The conference season has ended and what a year for Valpo! My congratulations to the entire athletic department and Mark LaBarbera for his supurb leadership.
There are seven sports with team play (not based on individual performances, like golf or swimming or track. In my view clearly the most important sports. They include Men's and women's basketball and soccer, Volleyball, Baseball and Softball.
In these seven sports there are a total of 14 championships--one regular season and the other the tourney title.
So, after the 14 titles here is how the league finished the year:
Valpo 6 :thewave:
Milwaukee 4
Green Bay 2
Detroit 1
Loyola 1
CSU 0
WSU 0
YSU 0
UIC 0
and our about to be departing member, Butler 0
It will be a tough act to follow! GO VALPO!!!
Great job for all involved, and definitely happy about who is pulling up the rear in these sports :)
wish we could've won a few more conference tourney titles, but this should really help boost us in the mccafferty standings.
......and WSO was 3rd and VB 4th (both top half of the standing) in the 2011 regular season this Fall. Only women's BB was out of the top half.

Last year's winner was Butler. The announcement (below) is dated June 1, 2011. The article includes a picture of the trophy and a general description of how the point system works.

I would imagine that we will be in the top 4 this year? I didn't feel like doing any computations, anyone else feel like doing that? :)
