This is not a sport. These are in no way athletes. This is not what Valpo should be aspiring to be a member of. I hope that the Athletic budget is not supplementing any of this nonsense.

Pandering is the exact word I was considering. Even on the post game show, it sounded as if we had just lost by a hair. However, this has gone on all season.  If you go back and read the pre games and then the recaps the school is really playing it soft with the coaching staff. Even their constant reminders of the previous regimes lack of success(only three wins in the previous 3 years ALL AGAINST THE SAME TEAM) seems to be aimed at propping up this staff at all costs. AND AS AN ADDENDUM all teams are beat up and missing key components at this time of the season. You recruit for these type of situations.

When does it become Carlsonesque? The injuries at that time were just as many and as severe(towards starters). Those players were playing as freshman also. The administration has opened its pocketbooks for this staff. Facility upgrades. Recruiting money. Staff salaries. One winning season. The Carlson era took a beating on this thread. Deservedly so, he was a poor coach. However, the current staff have been given the benefit of the doubt way more than others. Just my opinion.

Disagree all you want, however, Valpo is a division 1 football program. The Pioneer league is lower rated, but it's representative has won first round games in consecutive years.

Why wouldn't he be at Valpo? Last I read this is a D-1 school is it not? And please don't give me the old song "It's a glorified D-3 program" You do not play with the Western Illinois, Illinois States, Youngstown States, Montanas, North Dakotas etal over the years if you are a D-3 school. I realize the Pioneer League is one of the lower rated leagues, but remember every year there is a doctor or a lawyer or an officer who graduates last in their class They are still expected to do their job.

People keep pointing to the Duquense game as a high point. Did it ever occur to some that Duquense overlooked us. You see what happened to YSU vs. Butler. Whether scholarshipped or not they are still 18,19, 20 y/o young men who may have fallen into one of footballs oldest trap...looking past ANY opponent.
