Really hoping we can get a few big fbs/fcs transfers down the stretch.

Marist and the other team in Indiana seem to have hit the Ivy League really hard since you can only play as an UG and many people have a year of eligibility left, could be wrong but this does not seem to be a strategy Valpo has pursued

That implies that Southwest Minnesota St. was a buy game for us if we are not going to their place this fall!? Was that previously mentioned here?

Student section looks good, best all season so far

This looks like a solid get, yo start and put numbers up at any level as a true freshman is great.

Were we a little light for early signing? Feel like in years past we had a few more

Worth noting attendance was 1,900 for the opener, there were only 3 home games the entirety of last season that had more than that. I get that it was Powell's debut and there was a lot of promotion but it was also a Monday night against a non D1. I'm optimistic the ARC will be much more full this season

Ivy League had 4 teams in the top 20 RPI. MVCs best team (MS) didn't even crack 100.

One of the news channels had her nephew on I believe talking about her and her work. I watched a little bit the other night and then I see this had no idea she was a Valpo grad, super cool!

Bulter was not recruited by any power conference schools. He went to Arizona as a student and walked on making the roster (still very impressive). He does not show up in any recruiting index at all which would be odd for anyone that has a single D1 offer. Also was not Pac 10 was pac 12

Heard from a few people and seen pics/videos there were about 20-30 people in attendance as well as Padilla (and his family), Powell, Small, the university provost, mayor, head of local business club (I believe). Was a really nice higher end event food, cocktails, cigars. Padilla and Powell both gave quick speeches about their vision for the school and the program. There were also renderings of possible future college of nursing building, basketball/ athletic facility (victory village) and some football upgrades (may have been others but idk). People said it was an excellent event. 

The WSJ rankings came out last week and Valpo came in at 192 out of the top 400 schools ranked.

Over the last six years we have had a great trend in the rankings, unfortunately it has not seemed to help in enrollment so far but it is clearly trending in the right direction.

Spelman Annis and the boys stand tall on defense, Matthes turns the field all night showing why's he's the best in the FCS and Tyler's feet keep him away from that YT defensive front allowing us to sneak one out!

Haven't see this mentioned on here but Davidson is breaking ground on a 55m football/athletic facilities.

We definitely badly need some facility upgrades but Hilltop really looks good and much better than many of the other valley team's practice facilities that I see post on social media

Didn't realize Merklinger started every game, not in bio or 2022 stats, that is a large loss, need all of the OL help we can get. The other two barely had numbers on the stat sheet so can't imagine it's a huge loss, still losing any contributor at this level and our position is not good.

Merklinger, Grguric, and Randall didn't or barely played at VU they're not going to get on the field at their new schools either but there's lots of other reasons to change schools wish them success.

The others hurt, hate to see Turner leave the most but I'm shocked he didn't leave after that Freshman campaign of his so glad we had him for a few extra years.

Dristiliaris transfer to Bulter is sorta wild from he's the east coast with no ties that I can tell to Butler. DL is probably our most stacked position group so maybe he'll have a lot more PT... idk. Who transfers to Butler out of the program, has to be something else going on here.

When I hear boom I'm thinking a league shattering get... There are many other things you can say then boom. It should be reserved for a massive signing, getting commits with no other D1 offers just isn't a boom, full stop. Burton and E. Were both ESPN 100.

Not a single "boom" of his has been a boom... a boom is a 4-5 star or top player in the transfer portal.
