Sweep of Bradley this weekend! Down three regular starters we scored 26 runs.  Great pitching (only used 5 pitchers entire weekend. Jumped two teams in standings.  UIC at home this weekend to keep things rolling.   

Playing young last two years starting to show dividends.    This entire squad basically has 2 full years experience.       Confidence showing thru first two weekends.     It is early, butcCurrently Valpo #1 in both Pitching and Hitting in the Valley. Crushed UTM who split with Belmont and beat Murray this year.    No reason to think this team won't be highly competitive when conference play starts.     Keep rolling Beacons!

The actual name iof the type of shield in our logo is a Heater Shield.

This team is young.   Due to injuries they started 3 true freshman and a sophomore (shortened season last year) in the IF at Jax State.    The Starting rotation consists of 1 junior and 2 sophomores.     It is going to be a tough year with many teams in valley loaded with experience and returning 5th year seniors.    Youngsters showed some great things this past weekend with comeback in 9th inning of first game.   This team will continue to develop this year and the experience gained this year will pay off in future.    Over half of this roster has 3 years of eligibility left after this year.    Talent is there...just need game experience.   

A tremendous leap for our program to better compete in one of the premier baseball conferences in the country!  Recruiting will benefit and more importantly for the northern most team, with the worst weather in the conference...this will allow us to actually get out and practice on a real turf field when everyone else is in the spring!
