It was Vercher who muffed it...twice...they kicked away from Maxwell all day.

Word has it that Fox is officially searching for his new OC. Unfortunately, I think this had to happen.

Valpo Football / PFL Awards
November 29, 2021, 04:02:26 PM
Although we didn't have a great year, I still feel as if we were snubbed in the awards category by the PFL today.  I certainly think Washington should have been considered for Offensive Player of the Year with 1,443 offensive yards, which was first in the PFL. He also led the PFL in rushing yards and was third in touchdowns.  Ben Niesner led the PFL in punt yards (2421) and average (43.23) and was 16th in the country.  Chuck Maxwell led the PFL in kick return average (25.0) and yards (599) and was 10th in the country in kick return yards, yet the kid from Marist that was named Special Teams Player of the Year was second in the PFL in both (23.6 and 495) behind Maxwell.  It seem like a no brainer that Niesner or Maxwell would have made more sense for the award.

It was awful...no real scheme...San Diego was never confused and seemed to know exactly what we were about to do. I'm very concerned that if a real offensive coordinator does not come in, we will lose any talent that we do have to the portal...that goes for both sides of the ball. Need a coach who knows what he wants to be...spread offense...a power running team, pro style...right now I have no clue what we are trying to be. Frustrating to say the least.

I know this is the NFL, but our blocking seems to look like a high school JV scheme compared to this...I would love to see someone on the OL actually go get a backer...just doesn't happen.

James is the new QB Coach and Limbaugh moved to RB Coach.  Sounds like Fox and James are calling the plays now.

Rumor has it that Fox has made some major changes and is now very involved on the offensive side of the ball.  If this is true, I am hoping to see some major changes, especially to the play calling and blocking scheme.

I agree. Had some new plays, but Limbaugh went back to his boring offense after the first quarter. Run blocking is bad on offense and special teams. We run the read option almost everytime we hand it to Washington; however, there is no reading...he gives it everytime no matter what...fit one yard. Haven't seen many post or slants. No way a linebacker can cover Maxwell in the slot, but Limbaugh can't figure out how to exploit that. Also terrible officiating today. Just awful.

Limbaugh must go. He is in so far over his head. Half of the team wi be in the portal if he is retained. Making Fox look bad.

Get the ball is #2's hands... apparently Limbaugh can't figure this out.

Limbaugh's play calling and his ability to evaluate talent are not good.

Turner was snubbed and Niesner should not have shared the award with anyone, let alone a guy who didn't even lead the league in return yards, avg. per return or returns for touchdowns...but we did have a guy (Charlie Maxwell) that not only led the league in these categories, but was also #1 in the country in return average and returns for TD. Bizarre choice to go with Nichols.
