Gustie is the alma mater of James McPherson, Pulitzer Prize winning author of BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM. and retired professor at Princeton. I ran a regional office for a publishing company and lived in Princeton for four years. .As a Civil War buff I knew of McPherson and was able to attend a few of his seminars. Fantastic!

Was at the Masters on Friday. Great crowd, Tigers back  and the kid from Texas looks good. The tour moves to Hilton Head this week We have some noteables playing but not many of the BIGS. We'll stay off the roads and out of the local watering holes. . Let the tourists take over. Tough life,huh?

A starting time of 10:oo pm EST is tough on us old folk. But more disappointing is the fact that we will miss Bill Maher and will watch Valpo instead. It's like going from comedy to tragedy in one fell swoop. Bad for the digestive system too

Obama was right on in his criticism of the Crusades. An article "The First Victims of the First Crusade" by Susan Jacoby recently appeared in the Sunday Times. The crusaders started off by killing Jews in Trier and Mainz in preparation for the invasion of The Holy Land. Over 700 Jews were slaughtered in Mainz alone. So you "cultural ignoramuses" need to read up on the First Crusades.----- Go Obama you got it right.

Butler beat Maine by 42 pts. The game was played at Hinkle so the "Dogs" enjoyed a home court advantage. Now,Valpo plays Maine at a neutral site so I'll predict a Valpo win by less than 20 pts. Book it! "Fill the steins -----"

The game will be televised on the SEC network. I intend to watch it. Go Valpo!

Although a loss is a loss a 1 pt. loss is certainly better than the 30,40,50 pt. losses we've seen in the past. Go Valpo!

Shields Up! Saw the movie "THE JUDGE" and there is an unflattering character in the film that refers to himself as being a Valpo Law School.grad. Not a good referral for the Law School or its graduate. But then again,IMO, Valpo Law is second rate. Anyhow,you be "The Judge."

We use to call the "Fuzz" Altoona for his home town. My wife whom I had not met as yet thought his name was Al Tuna. On a personal note,when the Packers were in town in the early 60's playing the Unitias led Colts,our 8 yr. old son was the regional PP&K champ. He was competing at half time for the right to go to the Super Bowl (he came in 2nd.)Anyhow,called Fuzz at his hotel and asked him if he would pose for a picture with our boy. He did. In fact he had Forrest Gregg and Jim Ringo with him. Great time had by all. Our prayers are with you Fuzz.

Valpo has again tied with Xavier for 5th. place in the MW Regional category. Butler a solid #2. What gives?

I miss Milan's analysis of our games as he was (IMO) a realist. So, to keep the record straight and honest I'll pick St. Joe by 7. Hell our "D" still stinks we miss Hoffman and therefore our "O" stalls(where are you Leslie). Should we beat St.Joe -yeah. Will we beat St. Joe - hell no!
