A fun note just looking at Twitter, Valpo Football has more followers (28.4K) than both Basketball (9.7K) and Valpo Athletics (12K) COMBINED.

As a Football Alum, I love to see it. However I'm not blind to the issue that the biggest sport for the University has a third of the following on that platform.

If anyone has the artist Bryan Flynn's contact information could you please send it to me in a DM?

I do not have twitter so cannot reach out that way.
Bryan lists his instagram as @spadeandheart, but I don't see any contact email listed on his social media accounts

I do hope the University does an Athletics Rebrand with more modern secondary logos to go along with the Shield. However, I hope we can get more of a presence on Fanatics and a better variety of options.

Just looking at another MVC member, Bradley, they have a pretty large selection of merch. https://www.fanatics.com/college/bradley-braves/o-38+t-56587803+z-960226-4039202683

I 100% agree that it's time to move on, but Valpo will not fire him mid-season. That's just not how the school operates, unless the new President and AD wish to change the status quo.

The Brown Field scoreboard is in need of a replacement. There have been multiple issues with it breaking occasionally over the past few years. Would also majorly help with the game day atmosphere for all sports that use it - Football, Soccer, Track and Field.

Hard to really predict this game based off of That Team Down South's conference performance so far. It will be nice to have home field advantage in this matchup for The Helmet.

Valpo just knocked off the #2 team in the preseason poll and by virtue of the schedule, they do not play #1 Davidson.

If Valpo wants to contend at the top of the PFL this year, they should make quick work of the Blue Hose like Davidson did this past weekend.

WTF is this. We have gone from a Crusader, a fierce warrior, to a pair of dogs that like pets behind the ears, licking faces and nachos... Clearly students involved in the furry community had some part in this.
I find it difficult to believe that a group of students that is representative of the entire student population came up with two cartoonish dogs as mascots.

I'm a fairly recent graduate and former student athlete. I am not surprised whatsoever at this outcome.

There is a massive disconnect between students and student-athletes at the school and the rift will grow even further after this rebrand. Only when they share the same seats at the table will progress be made.

Bryan Flynn with yet again with amazing concept design. Just another reminder that the University has dropped the ball every step of the way of this rebrand. (I would link the tweets here, but I am having an issue posting external links - you can find him @brydfly on Twitter)

Instead, the University has given us not one, but two forgettable dogs that have nothing to do with the Lighthouse artwork/theme they have introduced.

Quote from: mj on August 15, 2022, 11:17:53 AMAlso, has anyone heard of "George" the dog and the fact that it's considered good luck to kiss his headstone before exams?

I heard about this on a tour of Old Campus at Freshman Orientation. Never heard about it again until now.

I have always viewed Eastgate as an enigma. There's an old soccer stadium still there, and the baseball team is getting stadium upgrades. As far as I can tell, all intramurals have been moved to the hospital fields.

It's always been puzzling me as to why it hasn't been developed by the university as it is such a massive plot of land. It's great to hear that plans are now in the works to at least do something with the rest of the eastgate property.
