More realistic scenario. Ryan averages 34 minutes a game, all at the 4. Bobby and Vashil mimicking the minutes that Richie and Vucic played!

Not sure Bryce would want to leave the area with the current health situation of his parents.

Who's to stay that his parents wouldn't look to be somewhere between Tulsa and Waco???

From the beat writers today, Edwards' family hasn't been to see him play this season?

I think I could pretty easily get behind some sort of (modest?) stipend for family travel.   I mean,  it might be for non-financial reasons that they haven't been able to make a trip to Valpo.  But...

The missus has to work today and tomorrow, but I just got home and off tomorrow (my boss is a big basketball fan!). Heading off in a few minutes after working all night. A friend is driving down so I can get some sleep.

Thanks for the thought!

I just saw the highlights of the game on the LA version of Sportscenter. Anyone know when we picked a center by the name of "Keith" Van Wijk? Yes, Neil Everett called him Keith instead of Kevin. Still good to see Valpo in ESPN highlights, (channeling my inner Cris Carter), Neil.."C'mon Man!!"

Just saw the report on Sports Center. 'Keith' nearly loses the ball and passes to Broekhoff, If you remember, it was Broekhoff who nearly lost the ball and passes to Van Wijk. Reporter gets the two mixed up!

Ive heard that exact thing as well. I don't know if people aren't that impressed with the resume, or what, but a lot of people are picking Butler for the auto bid. Butler is at very least considered the co-favorite even if Valpo hosts. It should be interesting.

*I would not play Kevin tonight unless he's 100%.
[/b]

I think we will need him. Loyola only lost to the "co-favorite" Butler, on  Butler's floor, last week, by 6, 63-57, and Butler led only 51-49 with 2:19 to play. This won't be a walk in the park.

Or did Butler suffer from the effects of the "Butler hangover"?

I think it would be nice to see Cleveland state in the semi.  (even though it's difficult to beat a team 3 consecutive times).  The other semi would be Detroit and butler.  (I don't see butler losing three times to Detroit though.  Brad Stevens would have some type of scheme or game plan to keep from losing again.  He does his homework and would give butler the edge over mcCallum.

If we beat Butler Friday night, this scenario would be very interesting. We would have to beat two different teams for a third time this season. Not an easy task ever.

Isn't Valpo's 1 game lead over CSU actually a 2 game lead since we hold all the tie breaks over them?

I guess you could call this a virtual 2 game lead!

Cleveland loses! Now we have a one game cushion. But let's win out and remove any doubt about who wins the conference.

I see Valpo building on their success.

Back to the thread, how difficult will it be to sweep the Wisconsin road trip? Too bad that Milwaukee is the second game, as that is one we can't afford to lose due to tie breaker implications. We definitely have the team to win both, but can we keep the lethargy out?

I'm looking for a double digit win Thursday, and 5 on Saturday.

An above average player on a mediocre team could really stand out by putting up big numbers and become eligible for MVP. But if you put that same player on a good team, he might have more reasonable numbers. That is why it is important for the MVP to come from a good team (final four?).

Pretty tough ask of Richie. Last year was the first year he has played the 4 position. He began by playing the 1, progressed to the 2 in junior high, and the 3 in high school.

Commercials were a little blurry, who cares? Only problem I noticed was I couldn't download fast enough and missed a couple of frames every once in a while.

Someone mentioned that a member of the girls team has Mono, so Tommy must have it too. That is a bit of a jump. No one has said what his problem is. If he is to be back after missing only two weeks, it is seriously doubtful that he has/had Mono.

This team averages 53 points a game. If we allow them 60 ????

Richie was told very early, by age 14, of the do's and don't of "professional" play. It came from the head of basketball of New Zealand. He was told exactly what he could and could not do. It probably didn't hurt that Chris Sparks was the professional coach in his area. If an overseas player wants to play in the US, they have access to the rules.

Good game, and glad we held on after giving up the lead.  Had me worried for quite awhile in the second half, but I will take worry with a W!!

We need to play Vucic in our conference games.  Even though he didn't score much, in games where Edwards struggles, Vucic needs to play so Richie can learn that over-aggressive shooting can get him put on the bench so he takes more quality shots.

Over aggressive shooting? 2 of 4 from the floor doesn't sound like over aggressive to me!

It was after a free throw in the first half.  The Butler Students at the end he was shooting on were chanting "Mr. Clean" while he was shooting. give more specifics).

Isn't the first time he has heard this retort. It was used by Kathleen, Lakeland's closest rival. He enjoys the interaction.
