Dont crucify me for this thought, but...
Maybe the question needs to be asked - does Valpo really belong in the Valley and should they consider a move back to the Horizon or   If the commitment isnt there from the University BOD and  Administration (Padilla can talk all he wants, it is actions that matter), then maybe the best step is to take a step back.  Something that the next AD may need to think about.

I gave it a "C" mainly because of all of the circumstances.  It was the first year in the conference (if I remember right, the first year in the Horizon was not pretty either), the injuries and player losses didn't help.

We will see...

26-6 record, Conference Champs, 11 seed, make it to Sweet 16 and lose a close one...

I was there, hell of a game.  Alec really took the leadership role with about one minute to go before the end of the halftime.  He had everyone around him and it sure as hell looked like he was giving a "Come to Jesus" speech.  Whatever happened in that halftime, the switch got flipped.

When my wife and I were both RA's and students back in the mid-late 1990's, it was quite commonplace to turn the lounges into 3-4 student rooms.  Some things never change...

I have a feeling that Bryce's phone is already ringing...Hopefully the university has the checkbook ready just in case...

Just a thought here...depending on what happens with Horizon League expansion and who gets invited in (Oakland, other Summit League teams, etc), does it make sense for us to look at starting to schedule teams from these conferences that we are interested in maybe moving to in the future.  A lot of us complained about our somewhat weak non-conference schedule this past year but we also dont need to be scheduling teams like Duke, Carolina, like in the 2000's.  What about maybe scheduling some home and home series with a couple of teams from the MVC, OVC, or the like - some stronger mid-major teams that are at our level or maybe 1/2 a level above...

My guess is that the design language will be similar to the Welcome Center and other buildings recently built.  I have a feeling this was made a higher priority seeing that they keep talking about Valpo having 6000 students within a few years...need somewhere to put them all...

OK...so our seed sucks, plain and simple.  Most of us thought a 13...hell most of the supposed "bracketologists" (i.e. Lunardi, etc.) had us there as well...  Anyways, I agree it comes down to the strength of the offseason schedule.   Need to strengthen that up big time - for example, why the hell cant we get a home and home with Baylor?  Cant Bryce and Scott sit at the dinner table during the offseason and hammer something out?   Yes, we did have some good non-conference opponents (St. Louis, New Mexico, Murray State) but there was a hell of a lot of crap there too (IPFW, Purdue Calumet, Chicago State).  Maybe more with the Ohio Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Conference would have helped?

Hell of a game...from the videos I saw, kinda reminds me of the atmosphere when Valpo beat Western Illinois to win the 1995 Mid Con Championship game in triple overtime...  Need to get KVW some rest.

If anything, this gave the team their "oh s**t" moment that they needed, but also gave them some confidence on coming back late in the game...

He [;ayed quite well tonight...hit a couple of 3's and put some good energy on the court.  Really liked what I saw from him tonight.

I would also bet that there will be a lot of open chairbacks due to people having to go to work...  I would hope that some professors would be sympathetic to those who want to go to that game, knowing that it is a unique time.  Like others who have posted, I would have missed the 8:00 AM class to go to the game...

Still only have them at 1 win this year...no confidence in the program yet...
