It is bad when you lose PERIOD.  I have a feeling this will help "wake up" and strengthen the focus of a group of players that have been underachieving a bit. We shall see this weekend...

In response to Valpo 64. Just like our parking lot.  It keeps getting worse and worse. Are you listening Mr. AD???? Good to see we have won the last two conference series. Lets keep it going!

It isn't just the field that is in poor condition.  Here is a picture from today of our wonderful parking lot that hasn't changed a bit over the years. Despite it being painfully obvious that repair is needed, nothing has been done. The second picture is that of my nephew's little league parking lot where it costs each player $135 a season to play. You tell me who is getting the better bargain. This is so bad it is laughable! Somebody from Valpo Law should explain negligence leading to personal injury to the Athletic Department.  We are a better school than this. Right?

Although he has yet to prove his overall management skills, I am sure Schmack will be fine.  During his tenure he has been in charge of a majority of the recruiting as well as the team's overall skill development.  He has a winners mentality when it comes to the day to day approach of putting the best possible team out there. Hopefully he can surround himself with like-minded people and things will keep progressing in the right direction.

Schmack will be fine.  Fortunately pro stats stay in the pros- good or bad. I do like what he has done with the pitchers here.  Glad to hear Woodson got the job he wanted.

Quote from: valpotx on July 17, 2013, 02:18:43 PMAccording to Spider fans, Woodson appears to be the choice at Richmond.  If he is going to accept, hopefully he does it ASAP, so that we can do a decent length search as well. http://richmond.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1579&tid=165456426&mid=165456426&sid=1099&style=2

He gone....

I've heard through the grapevine that the AD has a lot of confidence in asst baseball coach, Brian Schmack. I would think that Schmack would be at least considered for the job.

That would be a good choice.

I'm glad he was able to get out of the football program with good health.  Your health is important.

Again his record is 187- 210.  Kent State would be a big step up, mid major or not.  They have been a baseball powerhouse for the last 7 or 8 years.  Rob Cooper (WSU) would be a stronger candidate for the job. He has record of 286-230.  It also helps that he has been recruiting in Ohio and was just named the 2013 18U National Team Manager.  If you look at previous managers that is a big honor.  Tracy has had some success at Valpo, but he is going to need to keep showing it in order to be promoted to program like Kent State/ NC State.  Maybe after one or two more years like the last couple he might have a shot.  The key is to keep going the right direction. Hopefully they will keep recruiting and developing the right players, and maintain the current coaching staff (which is the hardest part).  It is clear if you look at the recent success (2011-2013) that this particular group of coaches do something different that leads to success even against the bigger schools.

187-210 is Coach Woodson's record at Valpo. It is gonna be pretty tough to get a high profile job like NC State with a losing record.  His last couple years have been good but I am not sure that is good enough.  Hopefully we keep winning.
