It is what it is.......I am just saying to take off the blinders and be open and honest about what you have.  Put the best team you have on the field.....to win.

The answer is to stop playing the young men who are fumbling the ball, throwing interceptions and missing tackles. 19, 23, 44 >:(.....the list goes on and on.  I know this is painful for the coach but maybe it is time to give some of your upperclassmen who have pretty much been mothballed....a chance.  Some have never gotten it with the coaching changes at Valpo.

Your senior qb has given the team four years of his life.........you can't give him 5 minutes on the field?  Really?  What about the junior?  How many more mistakes can they make that those that have already been made?

What do you have to lose?  You will likely be pleasantly surprised.  Look at the kids high school stats......they are NOT an empty cupboard as you have said time and time again,  Quit writing about character when you are doing nothing but destroying these upperclassmen with your careless and crazy comments.  Watch the replays...see who is doing a good job.....take off the blinders....before it is too late.

Valpo Football / Re: Valpo: #246 again and again

I just listened/watched the marist feed of the game.  Wow.  Why are we playing QB'S and RB's and TE's and WR's that continuously fumble the ball and throw interceptions?  There are those who are not making mistakes.  granted, they are not freshmen, but can we play to win.......just once?  You Coach are killing everyone except your precious freshmen.  They aren't getting it done.  Give your team a chance. It's admirable to admit you are wrong, but quit doing the same wrong thing game after game after game.  Remember, we parents pay the bills.

The Marist announcers in the 4th on a kick off laughed about our #5 and #23 being afraid to go near the ball....."Look, no one wants to return it!" is what they said.....it did look like that was the case.

The announcers also said Carlson told them he was playing a young team......and they make mistakes.  Seriously, I haven't seen this many MISTAKES since Pee Wee football.

This losing is not about the team......it is caused by coaching mistakes. Every time progress is made on the field, his crazy substitutions begin and we go into a tailspin.  No one is suggesting that there aren't some talented freshmen on the team....but not ALLLLLLLLL of them.  You need experience and size and game smarts.  Watch the tapes...check the stats. Admit you are wrong about who you are playing and fix it.  We need a win and it it NOT going to happen with this line up. >:(

Valpo Football / Re: Football vs. Morehead

From VU 72:
"Not to make excuses, but we do need to keep the following in mind:

Our leading Rusher:  Gabe Ali-Eli       Freshman

Our leading Passer:  Eric Hoffman  Freshman

Our leading Receiver:  Tanner Kuramata  Freshman

Our leading All Purpose:  Kelven Smarwt  Freshman

Add to that that our leading tackler today was John Edwards with 16. And he is a:  yep, you guessed it, a Freshman

Patience, I think will be at a premium, but you can see that the cupboard was pretty empty."

I believe there are some powerful ingredients on the shelves in that football closet.  All the cook has to do is learn how to mix the ingredients.

???I agree...unfortunately, it is more of the same.  After watching this team for the past two years, I wonder why the coach isn't looking at his stats and seeing...yes, some freshmen are doing some good things.....but what about those kids who have paid their dues and play well, then get mothballed for whatever reason?

I respectufully suggest that you look at who can throw, who can run the ball, who can catch the ball, and who can run down the other team's offense........put those young men on the field.  They are there....we see flashes of them.  Coupled with the youngsters, something good could happen.  Do you have the best kids on the field for special teams?

Look around coach........look at the sidelines where some of your best players are platooned.  They could be utilized to help this team win.  Young isn't always better.  Analyze the stats and see who is going forward, who is getting the job done.  Use them.......or, unfortunately, you will lose them if they continue to be sidelined by youngsters.

You know what I am embarrassed of?  So called fans that leave by halftime.....so called fans that shout insulting comments.....so called fans who dont know the  I of loyalty.  Professors at Valpo who talk down the team to recruits.  I recognize and know how hard the past season was.......my son is not used to losing.....let alone this bad.  However, he and many others r not quitters.  They have been working hard to turn this situation around.  There r some excellent players on this team that were heavily recruited by some really good schools including winning pfl schools.  Coach is learning who his players r and who can win on the Field.    Let's see what happens.

I am excited to see a new era in Valpo football.  Look, becker and Lemon were good kids, but we had a LOT of injuries last year.  It's hard to watch them get beat so badly, but, can you imagine how hard it is on the guys out there????????   I'd like to see some of you bashing the program try it.  Admittedly, my son is on the team.  He has been playing hurt and this will be his first season at 100 percent in probably three years.  He is not alone.  There are a lot of kids who were outstanding high school athletes and had opportunities to go elsewhere; they chose Valpo.  They are giving Coach C their all their year, why can't you naysayers show some support to these kids?

I am really sick of you people bashing the team and the coach.  Grow up...heck...go elsewhere because we do not need you here to tear us down.

I think the returning athletes, many of them, are excellent players, and you might be in for some surprises.  Come out to the scrimmages.  Be a true "fan."
