I came across this news article this morninghttps://universitybusiness.com/colleges-universities-surviving-closing-covid-tuition-endowment-enrollment/

The prof put 436 universities into one of four categories based on how they are likely to do under the COVID-19 pandemic. The categories are: thrive, survive, struggle and perish—based on calculated value and vulnerability data. Valpo was in the struggle quadrant, mostly because the average value rating was low. The complete story, as well as a spreadsheet, are available on this blog:

https://www.profgalloway.com/uss-university

I saw this article when it came out, but had not looked at the spreadsheet. I have not digested the model, but some of the outcomes (i.e. where schools fall on the quadrant) seem odd. It shows Marquette as "thrive" (probably too optimistic), but shows Loyola-Chicago as "perish" (definitely seems too pessimistic). It shows University of Chicago, with a massive endowment and incredible reputation, as "struggle".

If Lutheran colleges like Concordia close, Valpo needs to scoop those students up.
I believe that we will win.

on the athletic side.  University of maine-Machias campus has dropped all athletic programs.  basketball, soccer, etc... one full time staff member and 63 students impacted.
