After watching every game this season have come away from season with following thoughts:

HC: Fox has shown the ability to manage a game , his defense is proven sans Presbyterian and Morehead

OC/Offensive Staff: Very clunky, receivers were a non factor most of year. Outside of 3 FBS xfers was non existent. Play calling questionable. Hard to evaluate as third OL coach in that many years but hard to see Limbach coming back. Three years is a large sample size. Special Teams coordinator was awesome this year

DC/D-Staff: D played excellent in 7/11 games. Succeeded with very undersized line. Secondary gave up more a bit later in the season. Dougherty should be back same with the DL coach.

QB: Nimz walked with seniors , Berry and Jackson did not. Nimz shaky year but appeared to build confidence throughout season. Berry was awful when he played. Jackson/Kaplan/Lawson haven't shown a ton yet. My guess Jackson is guy heading into spring

RB: Washington and Orekoya are moving on and spot snaps were left. Lane / Clarke/ Labus all played but not in same tier. Washington attitude came out late in season. Hard to imagine this won't be a committee

WR: probably the deepest position heading into the off-season. Reese had a very solid 4 year career. Back will be Maxwell, Contreras, Bingham, Ross, Diego Del Castillo, Jones, Ragle. 2 commits over weekend here as well

TE: Hebbeler was a great grad xfer after last years grad xfer. Vickers played well here. Bittner gone but Conlin there. another grad xfer?

OL: Entire OL is returning Byrd confirmed. That being said only 2 games they were noticeably better was Presbyterian and Butler. I think they were still very young last year. Hoping for a big jump from this group.

DL: Purty, Orlandini, Martin's will all be huge losses. Kessen , Price , and Miller come back. Redshirted the entire freshman class here. Need some of young guys to get old quick

LB: Twigg , Peifer, Psota leave. Over 80 games between the three. Annis will be back as the leader of the D. Need young guys to step up here as well

DB: Turner / Chilton return which is a solid foundation. Horton was very good need to replace him / Sherman was a career starter, tough loss too.

Special Teams: Need xfers our kicker, long snapper, and punter leave

.500 in conference, if our offense was more competent we probably win San Diego and Marist , maybe Saint Thomas. On paper we have 87 returning. a smaller freshman class with a large xfer pool may be in order

See you all in recruiting season!

kicker and punter loss may be nearly as big as the loss of the RBs. The good news is that freshman running backs can come in an play and play well without having the adjustment some positions do. The trick is in finding that guy. Kickers and punters of the quality the program has had over the last few years aren't easy to find as well.

QB hasn't been the prominent position as it typically is with Washington around and will need to change. If Limbach is back....and unfortunately I suspect he may be....Jackson does seem a fit with the style and he's had success elsewhere when he played.
