Sorry, no pictures of northern Indiana gyms past Muncie Central. But I thought those of you wanting to see what the least populated section of the state looked like might appreciate seeing these gyms. The largest is Southport's gym because New Castle's Chrysler and Anderson's Wigwam are not in these pictures, that I remember. You probably already know that Henryville's gym is unusable due to their March tornadoes. There are many old buildings from before consolidation in certain school districts.

I set it up from oldest to newest. These are someone else's pictures that I found on the internet. I was looking for video or pictures of the Hatchet House in Washington, which was shown today during the state championship games on TV by the IHSAA, when I found these pictures. Sort of priceless really.

Ooops, noticed one of East Noble gym up by Fort Wayne in Kendallville got in there. Manchester is north of Muncie too, maybe Frankfort (home of the Hot Dogs) too. Okay, maybe Marion too.

P.S. There is a former Valpo player in one of the pictures. I couldn't help it.

Memories!  I stopped counting at 40 gyms that I have been in.  Growing up in Columbus with a Principal and a teacher as parents meant that HS basketball was very important in our house.  Love the pictures of Birdseye and Tunnelton, two of my favorite little schools back in the day!

A friend & I went to Spring Mill State Park for a the Gus Grissom Day Celebration. There are a ton of Grissoms left in Mitchell, IN that love to tell stories of Gus.

We drove over the Buddha Road bridge that day and then into Tunnelton. Hills, a river, caves and a quarry all in the same area. It's truly a unique place.

Gilead's gym looks like someone took tank shell firing target practice with it. I guess it's tough to tear down a place with good memories.
