On May 27, 2006, Valparaiso announced it would join the Horizon League, effective July 1, 2007.[1]

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Northern Kentucky to go D-1. There was some talk about it a year or so ago, but the administration stepped on the idea pretty quickly due to the cost.

The university (NKU) ended its membership in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) at the conclusion of the 2011–12 academic year and began playing a full Atlantic Sun conference schedule in fall 2012.[3] Following the four years, NKU will become a full Division I member.[4]
