With a matchup like that, College Game Day should be at Valpo instead of an insignificant LSU-Alabama rivalry game.

In theory, this shouldn't even be close. Most of Dayton's losses have been decisive (though they lost a close one to...yikes...Presbyterian), whereas Valpo has been competitive in most games.

Also, FWIW, they gave up 20 points to St. Thomas in the first half, held them scoreless in the second half, scored 14 to make it a 1 score loss and out-gained the Tommies in passing and total offense. UST ain't chopped liver.

We should win if we are loosely basing it on comparative scoring, but the way this season is going for Valpo, the key word here is scoring, and there it is. Quoting that great Alabama football player, Forrest Gump, "And that's all I have to say about that."

We got to see a flash of Butler until he hyper-extended his knee. Dang. Keefe looking pretty decent, especially when he tucks and runs. Nice pass to the pylon for the second score. Offense does not seem to have any underneath patterns or flares to the RB out of the backfield - on one play Butler was wide open to the left and had 20 yards of grass in front of him. Never looked at him.

EXCEPT.........

Stetson just put 41 on PFL leader Davidson. Yeah, the Hatters lost, but still........... 41 ?? ! Of course, Davidson ran up 61. But it was close all the way.

Next Saturday will be a tough one.

Which doesn't say much for the Valpo offense which had a few more yards but not all that much more.

Valpo won. I think we can leave it at that.
