Men's Soccer wins quarter final round in HL tourney

The curse has been lifted. A Valpo HL tourney qualifier, other than softball, has won a recent home field/court victory in an HL tournament. Congratulations MSO. They take on Cleveland State at Detroit this weekend.

Almost 3 years to the day they beat Milwaukee in the '09 "quarterfinals," 4-0 score and a fight early in the 2nd half... that was certainly a day

Lousy weather last night (not as bad as for the women!), but a reasonable game. Even if they cracked down on the vuvuzelas (_now_ they decide to enforce the "artificial noise makers only when the ball's out of play" rule?).

I figure they have a fair shot at CSU. Odd timing for a game, Friday 10 AM central?

No lights at UDM's soccer field, which also holds lacrosse, track & field, and it has football lines on it, too. 11 AM ET and 2 PM ET for the semifinals makes sense because that should ensure that all play gets in before it gets too dark

No lights explains a lot. The championship game timing is still funny - 12:00 PM eastern? Seems on the early side.

On central time, I'll have to shift church services if I want to catch the whole game...

Guys went down 0-1. Another 1 goal game. Mike's gotta work on the team scoring a few more goals next year. That's the 7th 0-1 loss this season. Also had two 1-1 OT ties and a 0-0 OT Tie. Only gave up two goals twice all season. At least they got to the semis this season. They lose Zobeck, but I think they'll get a lot of kids back next year -- hope there is a goal scorer among them.
