Read where the Big 10 will be initiating Lacrosse programs for both men and women in 2014-15. Good. Also Johns Hopkins will be joining on a Lacrosse participation plan only. Bad! JHU's academic reputation will take a hit by associating with the Big 10 schools. What a bummer. :-[

I assume that's a joke on your part. Joining the Big Ten as an affiliate member will likely get Johns Hopkins a membership on the Committee on Institutional Cooperation ("Academic Big Ten") which includes the 12 (soon to be 14) member schools and the University of Chicago...widely regarded as one of the strongest academic coalitions in the country. The B10 has 8 (soon to be 10) Public Ivies plus Northwestern and the University of Chicago.

This is a huge coup for Johns Hopkins as well as the Big Ten/CIC member institutions.

JHU may be giving up scheduling the likes of  Duke,Princeton,Syracuse,UVA,UNC,others ,to play against IU.PU MN. MSU,PSU and others. Give me a break. The sun rises in the East and sets in the West. In between - nothing.

Although, better than the old "White Knights" thread he started.

By the way, how did your Colbert do?

Shouldn't have missed the tournament for the first time in 47 years, then perhaps getting into an auto-qualifier conference wouldn't have been on the agenda. :P

And if the US chopped off both coasts and let them fall into the oceans......................wait................that is going to happen sooner or later!

I think you are referring to the Association of American Universities and JHU is a charter member.

Negative...The Committee on Institutional Cooperation is completely independent of the AAU. Its membership is limited to Big Ten Member institutions and the University of Chicago (a Big Ten founding member). If/when it joins, Johns Hopkins would be the 16th member.

Good response from Jason Aldean to "coastal" arrogance.

Jason Aldean - Fly Over States

The best thing about the east coast is it keeps the majority of the nation's a$$holes all in one area.

The funniest thing is that our "east coast" friend lives in the "good 'ol boy" south!  Pretty hysterical when you think about it!!  You do have to love Nikki Haley!!
