Both teams coming off a bye. Campbell is 1-2.  BTW the only unbeaten PFL team is Mercer at 3-0.  In three weeks they have more W's than VU in 3.27 years.

:o

At first I was grateful that we made it past the bye (or Bayh) week unscathed, but then this factoid arises!  Sad, truly sad.

This is Carlson's fourth year.  Every player is either his recruit or a 5th year senior that has bought into his system.  This should be a year of great improvement, which we have yet to see.  I guess that one could say that the PFL season is a new season, and look at it from that perspective.  This team needs to make changes on both offense and defense - the same old plays won't do it in the PFL season.  We really need a big win.

Valpo       38
Campbell  24

VULB#62

UNC-Charlotte (FCS Scholarship)  Lost 7-52
UVA- Wise (DII) Won 56-21
Charleston Southern (FCS Scholarship) Lost 10-30

They seem to be improving.

I still see us having their number:

Valpo 38
Campbell 27

According to the latest Sagarin ratings it will be #248 Valpo against #249 Campbell. With the home field advantage the winner should be Valpo. Don't bet on it. I'll take Campbell and hopefully a 0-11 season. Carlson, good bye!

Rose colored Glasses are giving me a glare on my monitor... did I really say that?

If Valpo wins Saturday, they will 3-0 vs. Campbell and what?.....1-33 (?) vs. everyone else in Carlson's time?   If we lose..it will be a new low.

Yawn.

Last time I will post on football topics until Carlson is gone.

VULB#62

No.  I believe they will be 0-33 against everyone else.

You could always use a pair of those brown and gold fancy sunglasses that they have been handing out at some of the VU sporting events since about Feb/March 2013. That would help with the glare and they are quite stunning.

So, 0-33 against everybody else and 2-0 against Campbell. You think Mike Minter is going to stand for that. The Camels are the only team to lose to Valpo in the last 4 seasons. Mike, the Camel coach, played through a Super Bowl game with a broken foot. He will some how lead Campbell to a victory. If they get hot then they it will be like playing against hot soup??   :(

Oh my!

Keep the Camel soup cold!!

So...correct me if I'm wrong...but the only record that counts is the league record.  Therefore, beating Campbell would put the Crusaders in a position (1-0) to make a run for a league championship.  Sure, I might be punch drunk but it's more fun to be optimistic than pessimistic.

When was the last time we were 1-0 in the PFL?  Lets go for it!

Thanks.  What is our Homecoming record over the last 5 or 10 years?  We can start a new streak this year!

The Homecoming game isn't identified as such but if you assume it is the last game in September then the record over the last 10 years is 1-10 with the last win in 2004.  How pathetic is that!  Way to get the alumni to contribute!!

In 2003 when we won the championship,  Morehead State won the Homecoming game on a disputed touchdown (too bad there wasn't any instant replay!).  Fortunately, we won the right game against them that year.

I love some of the optimism here but I just saw nothing last game that this team is moving forward.

If for some reason something clicks and the gears move together I will be there cheering for old Valpo.

Dude,

Cheering for Valpo is always a good thing, but if something looks like a turd and needs to be cleaned up, you need to address that too.   The problem is that the Valpo adminstration are not being good citizens by not carrying their pooper scoopers.

valpotx

Hopefully our 2003 team can bring some luck!

I completely forgot that it will have been 10 years since I was last in school, otherwise I would have made more of an attempt to get back to VU this year :)
