Valpo Opponents' Schedule & Results 2013-14

Green Bay only plays 2 D1 games in November. We play 7. They played Wisconsin close (counts as much as getting blown out by 40), but we'll see if they win a home game vs Virginia. If not, the winner of the Horizon may end up with a really poor seed (I don't think any team will have 12 or 13 conference wins this year).

Still not sold on Milwaukee, but I'm glad they're doing much better than last year. This is an extremely skewed sample size, but it's kind of hilarious they have a 221 RPI right now with a 4-1 record. The only wins from opponents of UWM have been UWM, San Jose St and Northern Illinois. But they've done what they've had to do so far and are exceeding all of our expectations.

What's with UWM?  4-1 with a win over Davidson and a 4 game win streak including the NIU Invitational title.  And they are playing a bunch of games back in the US Cellular ctr this season including our game there.

I believe UWM had no intention of playing any games at the Klotsche but with the decision to use the US Cellular Arena coming late scheduling conflicts with previous events already scheduled and under contract at the downtown Milwaukee arena forced the Panthers back to Klotsche.


Sesame Street on Ice simply pays more to the owners of the arena.

There are only 3 games at the Klotsche Center. Bradley 12/7, Wright State 1/30 and Oakland 2/2 .  12/7 Milwaukee Wave (indoor soccer) vs Baltimore Blast, 1/30 nothing and 2/2 AMSOIL Arenacross (motorcycle Supercross). So no Sesame Street on Ice and not a lot of big money making events.

Listening to the UWM game on the radio... 2nd half started and they were tied with Depaul. Not much scoring for UWM and its a 12 point game with 6 min left. Did see Detroit win against James Madison.

I also have to add that listening to UWM on the radio is an odd experience. One conversation was "doesn't that referee look like Paul Ryan... (silence) ... you know, Wisconsin US *Senator* Paul Ryan"

UIC hilariously won their first D1 game against San Diego today. Other than Youngstown State's win vs Eastern Kentucky, UIC beating San Diego has been the Horizon League's best win so far.

This game was closer than what the score indicates. Cleveland State was actually up by 8 late in the second half and it looked like they would pull off the upset. Kentucky realized they're Kentucky and pulled out the win at home.
