I believe that will eliminate RMU from future HL consideration.  Temple's move is solely motivated by trying to cash in on football money, thus eliminating baseball and softball.  It's a sad day when core sports get eliminated to boost football...

Title IX seems to be the root cause of most athletic budgetary problems:

Is there a women's program anywhere that is a true "revenue sport?"  I doubt it.  Other than a handful of powerhouse women's basketball programs, there is minimal fan interest in women's sports.  Women's programs basically generate no revenue, and as such represent a huge financial drain on already cash-strapped athletic departments.  It is what it is.  I expect we will see more cuts by more universities as time goes on.

I just hope that we manage our athletic budget well enough, that all of our current sports stick around.  We now match every sport that our conference sponsors, so it would make sense to keep them around.
