Finished my interview with Cory Johnson today.  I was pretty critical of Cory at times during the season.  Whether it be his three point shooting or defense or whatever.  I say this as a precursor to what I'm going to say next.

This guy is going to make something of himself, if not in basketball then in the business world.  I came away very impressed with his answers to my questions and his passion for his school.  I only wish I owned my own business so I could offer him a job.

Anyways, here is the interview: http://sectionee.blogspot.com/2011/06/looking-back-with-cory-johnson.html

Hope you like it.

Great interview.  We often tend to forget these are 19-22 year old young men and are not only handling a full load academically but also what amounts to a full time job playing basketball.

Isnt Cory what a student athlete should be?  What stands out is that he will be working on his MBA while playing in Europe...and that he looks forward to walking thru the graduation line again.

Congradulations on a great interview and keep them coming.

Yes, a very good interview, but I wish you thought to ask him just one more question. Cory, what about the feet?

Some of us have been speculating for months on just how much it effected his ability to elevate both for rebounds and in particular if pain had anything to do with some of the woefully short 3 point shots.

I hate to think how good we might have been if Cory, Matt and Erik had actually been able to deliver say 34%, 32% and 30% 3 point shooting for the season.

Some questions get responses that are asked to be kept off the record for various reasons.

Good luck to Cory!

Interesting that it looks like Fumey is playing in the top German league after seeing his name in your interview.  Chris Ensminger played on the team that Ben last played on, which looks like it was relegated to the second division after the season.

agree with everything that has been said.  Great interview.

Cory is a classy guy and I am proud that he played on our team.  Wish him all the best in the future.

I'm hurt. Luckily for me though the only Minnesota teams that I have to suffer for are the Twins and the Goofers.

Got to spend a good portion of an afternoon and evening with Cory the summer before he first stepped on the court for VU.  My daughter had already warned him that I was a rabid VU fan.  He was extremely gracious to me and the family and I came away very impressed with the young man.  It has been a little difficult listening to some of the criticisms knowing that Cory has played out of position his entire VU career, yet his upbeat approach and enthusiasm for the game was evident every time he stepped on the court.  Good luck and God bless your future endeavors.  Michaela says Hi!
