Don't know where to put this, but I'm sure there was a string somewhere that talked about Gordon Hayward's pro career -- just couldn't find it..

USAToday says that he will officially sign with the Charlotte Hornets for $63 million for 4 years.

I wonder how it would feel to make so much money that a "what I would do if I won the lottery" conversation would be a total bore?  ;)

Oh come on, wh, you know the confiscatory levels of taxation in this country.

He'll gross $15.75 million a year, but the feds take $6.2 of that off the top.  Medicare and SS take another quarter million.  The state of North Carolina will get a million besides.  Plus his agent gets nearly half a million of that a year.

He'll only take home basically half of that--just under 8 million!

Hardly seems worth it when you do the math.

Have to wonder if he'll splurge on another new car like he did after his first contract.  http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2010/09/29/gordons-new-wheels/

I've heard Drew Storen of the Nationals and Lance Lynn of the Cardinals have both contributed funds to the baseball program of BCHS but nary a penny has made it to the coffers of the basketball program by way of Mr. Hayward.

The women's team is  really having problems.  Valpo was apparently very hard on them as one player received a concussion and another a stress fracture during the game.  They now have 6 scholarship players available. An additional point of interest is that two players are out via violations of team rules.  Perhaps trying to recruit to a higher league standard is making it necessary to recruits players who might have other issues.  Who knows... ???

I wonder what the kids were thinking when this happened. The paramedics were thoughtful enough not to take off his costume head.

Butler seems to be doing alright.

I wouldn't make too much of this.  NC players haven't yet adjusted to playing basketball - and going to class.  ;)

The Butler/UNC game must have been poorly played...BU shot 31% and UNC 39%...rebounds:  BU 57 vs UNC's 40

Butler is not very deep and it showed today as they looked really sluggish against Oklahoma.
