The end of the UIC/Detroit game defines the term "basketball IQ" or more accurately the total lack thereof.

The best player on the court was Detroit freshman Paris Bass with 18 points in 21 minutes.  Oakland had no one that could stop him from driving the hoop.  He looks like a guy with a very bright future.

Speaking of Paris Bass, he looked really good against UIC at the end of the game. Without him there was no way that Detroit wins that game. Of course, without UIC totally handing the game to the Titans there is no way Detroit wins either.





Valpo will have to watch out for Bass, despite his being only a freshman, when they meet Detroit on Wed, Feb.4th at the ARC.

"Only let!" Nobody on Valpo "let" Felder go to the FT line. The refs "let" Felder get to the FT line 24 times. That is still mind boggling that Felder averages less than half that amount in any other game.

Looks like Detroit beat a pretty good Northeastern team in an (unusual?) day-time MLK Day game.

Detroit sealed the deal in overtime, scoring _21_ in overtime, to Northeastern's 9.  (I had to check that it was just one overtime period!  Just five minutes.).  After both teams scored just 26 in the first _half_.

Doesn't particularly look like Northeastern was fouling, just straight up points.

Milwaukee really took it to Wright State this evening.  WSU only scored 15 points in the first half and ended up falling to the Panthers 41 - 67 in a 26 point blow-out.  Didn't see that one coming, at least by that margin.

You can look at this two ways. We know that WSU was hurt by losing Yoho to injury and that they were behind both CSU and Valpo when the Raiders lost to those teams at home. I also think that Milwaukee must be stepping up this season despite not being able to play in the HL tournament or earning a spot in the NCAA tournament as the Panthers did last year as an HL 5th seed. I have a feeling it's a bit of both WSU falling below expectations and Milwaukee exceeding expectations again.

The box score shows that Griffin only played 2 minutes.  He played 33 against us.  I don't know if he got hurt or was sick, but that had to have a big impact, especially just after losing Yoho.

He got hurt at the start of the game. He hit his head hard, and I believe he already has a history of concussions.

UWGB playing lowly UIC and our road victory, along with a little magic sauce from opponents' opponents' and the like, seems to have finally pushed us past Green Bay in RPI.

At the moment Warren Nolan has us edging them out, taking 83rd place to their 84th.

At the moment we are 69th in the Sagarin's and GB is 56th.  A win could put us in the top 50 for the first time in a LONG time!

If we beat GB we have an opportunity to be ranked some point before the season is over. After GB we have Milwaukee at home and UIC in Chicago. Two games we should easily win. If everything goes according to plan we could possibly be 21-3. If we don't win in GB then the only we're ranked if we make a run in the tourney... I certainly wouldn't mind that!

Watched the first half of the Missouri Texas A&M game last night and was very happy with Missouri's 7 point hafltime lead. Checking the scores this morning was dissapointed to see that they ended up losing by 12. That game continues to haunt us.

Right now we are 67th in KenPom. Green Bay is 52nd. We're a 5 point dog with a 29% chance of winning the game. It continues to be one of 2 games that we are underdogs in (@CSU we're a 1 point dog with 48% chance to win). With a win we would definitely overtake Green Bay, probably push that CSU game to a W with 51-52% chance to win.

The highest we've been since they've kept track of daily rank was 65th right before the NCAA game in 2013. We started that season ranked 131 and once conference season started we hovered between 69 and 77. Last year our best ranking was 113th on December 22nd.

For those wondering @Detroit ranks as a tougher game than the Green Bay @ home game (57% vs 60% chances to win.)
