The Horizon League is now ranked 16th in conference RPI. I believe that is the lowest conference ranking since we have been in the league.  A special thanks goes out to UIC (291), Milwaukee (281), and YSU (275).

RealTimeRPI has us as the #15 conference:

Better than The Summit at #23, which is all we can really compare to, since the MVC is really the only other alternative for us, and they won't be adding again any time soon.

More incriminating: there's only TWO teams in the conference with winning records! How does that happen?

Warren Nolan is now showing the HL 14th. Realtime records run 1-2 days behind unless you pay for their premium service.

We passed NJIT - woohoo!

It's 14th. Detroit beat a top 100 RPI team today, while NJIT (the lone Independent) beat Maine, which actually hurts their RPI.

The most concerning part is the Expected RPI - based on RPI Forecast's simulations using Sagarin's predictor, the Horizon's RPI will end up 18th. Couple points:
* NJIT (14, exp 16) is shockingly competitive this year, which is the only Independent team.
* The Ivy League (16 exp 13) continues to improve - Harvard isn't as good as they should have been this year, but Yale and Columbia are both fairly strong.
* CUSA's (17 exp 15) shell of a conference has some really good teams like ODU, and has 4 top 100 RPI teams. But since it's built for football, it has a LOT of bottom feeders (8 teams 200 RPI+)
* The Patriot League (18 exp 17) seems to always have 1 decent team like Lehigh/Bucknell, but they don't have a top 100 RPI team. The HL has 3 +275 RPI teams while they have 0.
* The Big West (13 exp 14) surprisingly is up here, despite having only 1 team with a winning record. This shows the downfall of looking at RPI conference standings. UCSB and Long Beach State have Oakland'ed their schedule to improve their RPI. This conference will send a 15 best case scenario, while the Horizon will send a 12-13 seed if either of their top 2 teams win.
* Don't forget the American conference exists now!
