Valpo restaurant recommendations

Could any of the local Valpo residents or nearby area folks on the board maybe give me say 3 to 5 area restaurants you might recommend? A coworker of one of my daughters is coming to Valpo this weekend to do a campus visit and asked for ideas. Thanks in advance!

Budget? Fast or something slower? An emphasis on novel and/or local, or happy to know e.g. chain options within reach of campus?

For fast food close to campus, but basically home made not industrial, with very friendly owners and pretty good staff, I like Barada Kabob well http://baradakabob.com/

For a family-friendly brew pub I like Figure 8 for atmosphere, beer, and concept. http://figureeightbrewing.com/  I've not been lately, so they may have a new chef and I've heard they lost a brewer. But, again, atmosphere, beer, concept, family friendly. And downtown, right off the courthouse.

For pizza dining-in: Gelsosomo's is pretty good and classic (Chicago-style thin crust) http://www.gelpizza.com/,
