Only a 1 point Oakland half time lead. I think I am disappointed!

Oakland is a 1 man show.  Stop Felder and the game is yours.  Easier said than done, maybe I should say delay Felder.

Can we post him up with our larger guards and get him in foul trouble?  Attack him and force him to defend.  On the other side, If he beats our guards off the dribble we have a rim protector in Vashil as a "cover"defender.  However, that would probably result in Felder shooting 20 free throws.

Felder has taken 14 of the 22 Oakland shots.  He has 17 of the 29 points with 3 assists on the 12 points he didn't score himself.  If a team can shut him down, they win.
CRUSADERS!!!

So is Felder better than Sykes? Both are lightning quick but undersized. Sykes had real problems against our length. Should be very interesting to see how Felder does against  E and Shane.

Felder has been appearing in a couple mock drafts (in the 2nd round). He might be gone next year. I think he's better than Sykes, but Sykes never got to shoot 300 shots a game.

Both Dorsey-Walker and Martez Walker played high school basketball with Felder. Now that they have transferred and all reunited at Oakland it seems unlikely that Felder wouldn't stay the course. I think that everybody or everybody but Hooper is returning in 16-17. That would also make walking away difficult.

If that complete bunch does return I would look for the senior Alec Peter's led team to play pre-season second fiddle to Oakland.  :o   :'(

We have won the league 3 of the last 4 years. It will be 4 of the past 5 after this year and 5 of the past 6 after next year.

Next year's team will be a powerhouse, led by 4 of the top 10 players in the HL - Alec, Tevonn, Shane, and Derrik. No one, including Oakland, will matchup with them. At the end of the day Felder (like Sykes before him) will have 4 years of unending praise and nothing to show for it.

Teams that excel at both ends of the court win championships in the HL.  That defines Valpo, not Oakland. Valpo is king. Long live the king.

Felder played all 40 minutes. Better safe than sorry. You never know to the last second when an opponent might get on an 18-point run. lol

Like Milwaukee did against Wright State !  (20-2 over 5 minutes)... only to lose in OT... but... just sayin'...

OH... IPFW 60 Purdue North Central 32... AT THE HALF!

My best guess is that Felder is asking for the minutes to beef up his stats and improve his draft chances. Kempe is just doing his superstar a favor.

Felder hit a 3 with 18 seconds left and Oakland holding a 15 point lead. Oh, and CSU had already substituted out its starters and in effect had already conceded the game.

Just add it to the list of boneheaded Kampe-isms.

Noted earlier: Bryce is the AntiKampe.

The contrast with Bryce is remarkable, for sure. Maybe Bryce takes it _too_ far.  But, Alec played 27.  And the end of the bench held the ball at the end of the game. Even through a shot clock violation.

I do wonder about Tevonn's minutes. He played just 20. Was it just his poor offense? 1 of 9 shooting? Or could there be something of his injuries hanging around?

The contrast in shots taken is pretty crazy.  It's obviously not as simple as "Alec, take more shots".  But, Tevonn 1-9. Darien 4-9. Alec 4-6.

a3uge

I'm not complaining - let Kampe run his players into the ground again. Worked out well last year in the conference tournament.

Final Score from 1/3:

Oregon State 70 Oregon 57   took the 10-14-point lead early, and held it throughout the game.

OSU moves to top 50 sagarin @ #45; Oregon slips to #40 (from 39)

So Valpo is 1-1 against top-50 teams, and has the only Top-50 win in the Horizon League ... Wisconsin is up to #57 with a chance at moving up as their B10 competition heats up.
