Per which site?

WarrenNolan had them hanging in the top 100 after the loss yesterday.

And has them at 96 currently.

Quote from: valpocleveland on March 05, 2016, 04:57:52 PMDown go the Shockers! Doesn't help the bubble but if we get in it helps our seed!
If we win out we will be ahead of the MVC tourney champ and might be ahead of Wichita St too (too close to call)? It will be interesting how closely the selection committee weighs losses associated with player injuries. Properly weighted this might help both Wichita St and VU.

As for bubble hopes this is a real blow unless maybe our turned ankles contribute to a loss? Needless to say I have less than complete faith in the NCAA brain  ??? trust.

Oral Roberts up by 12 over South Dakota State early in the 2nd half. SDSU's current RPI is 38.

VULB#62

#8 seed Austin Peay takes the OVC. Yale takes the Ivy.

Oral Roberts choked that one away. South Dakota State is an example of a team being much worse than their RPI indicates.

UNI is a team you cannot figure out. They defeated North Carolina, Wichita St. and Iowa State, bit had a stretch where they lost to some weak teams. They are 21-12 and have won 11 out of their last 12. A hot team indeed.

4-1 against the RPI top 50 sure looks shiny.

North Carolina, Iowa State neutral (I guess), Wichita State neutral, Wichita State in Wichita.

But a pile of bad losses. Loyola home and away, Missouri State. 20-12 overall, RPI 79. Hopefully no threat, if they hang on.

Poor IPFW (the #1 seed).  I clicked on ESPN3 for the last 70 seconds of that one.  Did you see that home crowd for SDSU?   That was one hostile environment for Oral Roberts.  IPFW will struggle in the environment if they play them in the championship game.

VULB#62

Boy, the Ducks and Beavers are doing their part to help us out. The Ducks, who we lost to by only 6, are the PAC-12 regular season champs (condolences usc4).  OSU, who we beat, just beat UCLA.

That's what I'm afraid of if we and Oakland make it to championship game.

The Rhode Island loss at Fordham moved their RPI very little to #106. In their tournament they will face #181 UMass for the right to face #40 2 seed VCU. A win against VCU might put them against #3 seed St Bonaventure. This is not the best path for advancement but neither is it the worst.

Oregon landed the Pac-12 top seed and will play the winner of #82 Washington vs #74 Stanford. Oregon St with the 6 seed meets the 11 seed #96 Arizona St. The winner of that game will play 3 seed RPI #15 Cal.

usc4valpo

no worries 62. USC is getting better but not at Oregon's level. I think if USC wins a tournament game they will be in.

I also think if Valpo makes to the HL finals, they will be in. But I would rather see them win the tourney and make the Kampmeister hate life.

VULB#62

Hate life?

From everything I've seen in the last two years that guy embraces it. He is a singular character. But.....................id rather have Bryce.

Without looking it up again I believe USC plays UCLA (2-0) for the right to play Utah. So yes 1 win makes it a high probability but a loss to UCLA makes for a nerve-racking bubble watch.
If Skara and or Walker are of little or no help with non major ankle issues then who knows how the committee might address it.

They'll pick a team that went 9-9 in a power league and justify it by saying that they had more top 100 wins, despite that they were 6-11 against the top 100 and refuse to play anyone in the non-conference and won't play on the road.

Just win the damn thing in Detroit and we don't have to worry about anything.

Ok I'll be ready selection Sunday to arm up and fall in behind you. I know I can sling crap uphill just as good as you can and possibly much better.

Even if we win out and are handed a 12 seed I am ready for a fight. It wouldn't be the first I have lost.

I'm basically prepared for the 12 seed. A 13 would take some adjustment.

With the upsets already on the books, if we don't get an 11 we will have been screwed.

We are much better than 9-9 Washington, slightly better than 9-9 Oregon St and equal to 9-9 USC.

Man up! If you do not think a 12 seed is justified then you should not be prepared to quietly accept it.
