Quote from: vu72 on January 30, 2018, 09:31:30 AMHe's listed here at 6'6" 195#  Video looks like he has pretty good hand and clearly can go up and catch the ball.  Interestingly enough, he didn't drop one ball through the whole thing!!  :o https://www.hudl.com/profile/6167826/Tanner-Allton

Amazing we only see highlights of WRs and TEs who never drop the ball....NEVER! ;D

Could be a target near the goal line but blocking and getting off the line can be a big issue with very tall WRs. In order to be a Y TE, he's looking at adding a fair amount of weight at 6'6" or 6'7" and 195.

Wow!  This kid can really pursue and tackle! Some serious sticks! Check out this video!

He is a strong Christian and Conference POY! As a guy who grew up in Ohio, I know that there are a lot of good Ohio players.  Glad Valpo is finally tapping this close by source of talent.

I liked the RB half more than the LBer half.

Riley is 6'2" 235# and was a 5A All state tackle.  I'm guessing they move him to Linebacker of D end as 235# sure won't cut it in the Pioneer League O-Line and at 6'2" would be hard to imagine him getting to 270-290!

6'2" might be a stretch based on the picture with Coach.  Coach is maybe 6'.  Still, solid looking kid.  Like his name.

VULB has been affected by the affliction known as the Life of Riley. No, not the old TV show starring originally Jackie Gleason and then William Bendix. What I'm talking about is two recruits named in consecutive posts with the first name of Riley.

In this case it is Riley Allison standing next to Coach C. He is listed as 5-11 and 200lbs. RB/DB.

The other is the 6-2 235lb Riley Edgerton who is not pictured.

A couple of naproxen's and VULB will be able to return to work without infecting anyone else.

;D

valpofb16

Edgerton will play o line most likely luckily 3 of the 5 spots are filled until 2020 season (have heard lundberg, roberts, and jarnigan are all planning to return for fifth years in 2019)

Allison is a great grab Aquinas is high level football, with Cartales, Boxrucker,Earley, and Haugh(heard this kid is a stud) and Raumpach we have a great backfield moving forward

I beg your pardon, sir!  I drew my conclusion on 72's post which immediately preceded mine. It's all his fault for being incomprehensibly ambiguous by just writing Riley. Note that the other Riley, listed previously to Allison,  had no pic associated with it.    ;)

That is good news on Lundberg, Roberts and Jarnigan our 2 deep from last year has 3 seniors and 5 redshirt juniors.  Having those three back will really help. With the already committed guys we should be in good shape, are of these guys centers?

valpofb16

None of the guys we have recruited played center in HS however neither did RSJR Brady Sullivan, I imagine with the amount of O-Line we are bringing in someone is bound to be converted.

Excited on Nimz front huge arm, but likewise our QB situation is solved until 2020 as well, (Maybe 2021 depending on if Duncan stays and wins job)(Also Markoff and Bilinski are really talented)

This brings our class to 21 known recruits, there are always two or three left fielders that are posted in signing day however with amount of returning players I don't think we will see many more incoming freshman, class should be around 28-32 tops.

I'll do an overall run down of class when we get an official number but so far looks to be a good one.

Agreed this class looks solid. I could see adding a couple of WR and DB's perhaps a punter.

VULB#62

From his YouTube highlight reel, I liked Nimz's accuracy on deep balls.  Seems to be able to run a bit too when he has to.  He also had some good WRs to throw to.  Liked Catholic Memorial's #81.  If he is a senior we should go after him too.  If he is a junior, go get him next year.

Twitter post made it appear they'll be some sort of presentation online (maybe a stream) of the commits. Looked to be moreso than the tweets we've received in the past although maybe I read too much into it.

With the loss of Catrine to graduation and Navarro and Wright to wherever, I agree that a couple of WRs would be helpful. They'll lose Rene and Norberg after this season leaving, for the most part, Parker Fox and J.D. Koehler with LaRose looking ok last year as well. May be a function of just not seeing anyone else get on the field (Gessinger has his limitations as a WR which I think is demonstrated by the few snaps he gets from scrimmage) but behind the guys I listed, I'm not sure there's a lot there.

DBs appear to be in a similar situation losing JJ, Riley, Scargle and JDM and Leandre being gone after this season. Again, this could be a function of not having seen a lot of the guys left on the field much if at all.

Commit:

6'3 190 Justin Helms OLB/DE North Central Indianapolis IN (3rd panther of decade Jabril Baker '13 Melvin graham '15), good speed off the edge

6'3 185 Oliver Reese WR Battle Ground Academy Franklin TN. Great pick up, 6'3 can run, this will be a steal.

In terms of receiver I think we could see Sherman there and I know we are waiting on Javon Cooper and Jakai Linwood to make decisions. With Norberg, Koehler, Rene, Gessinger, Fox, Larose we have our 2 deep for 2018

DBs Hebda, Booker, Brimmage,Kelly, plus return of Isaac Lane it's not horrible plus redshirts Stacey Jones and Bryce Leach have excellent size , forgot Duncan he's good
