TE Tanner Allton FR has left team

6-5, 190 TE from Ohio.

:twocents:  In the past when we lost freshmen during preseason, it reflected badly on the program and coaches.  But now a different dynamic could be emerging.  That is:  perhaps a departure is a result of when a player realizes that he is just not good enough and cannot compete at this level in this program.  With Alton this, of course, may not be the case at all.  He may have other reasons.  But with the program, at the point it is at now, we have this new dynamic whereas in the past it would be out of the question to even think this way.

The next position is offensive line

We return all five starters although RT Terrence Roberts has missed most of camp. Zajac and Taliaferro are battling it out for the starting spot. Roberts figures to return sooner than later. Jarnigan, Schofield, Lundberg, and Rentschler are all back for a third year together as a unit. Valpo also returns everyone from its two deep. The best freshman lineup throughout camp has been Adkins-Byrd-Edgerton-Russell-Breese, expect Redshirts across the board.
RT:
#77 Terrence Roberts 6-5 335 RSJR* (Questionable)
#75 Shannon Taliaferro 6-1 295 SR. or #74 Jimmy Zajac 6-6 270 RSSO
#62 Jordan Adkins 6-5 280 FR
#51 Dave Drs 6-3 240 FR

RG:
#73 Tom Schofield 6-3 285 SR
#72 Solomon Kamara 6-2 295 RSSO
#68 Aaron Byrd 6-3 280 FR
#71 Brendan O'Doherty 6-3 275 FR

C:
#65 Jack Jarnigan 6-2 285 RSJR
#70 Brady Sullivan 6-4 280 RSJR
#69 Alex Helander 6-1 270 RJR

#53 Riley Edgerton 6-2 240 FR

LG:
#67 Eric Rentschler 6-2 285 SR
#66 Sam Vas 6-1 305 SO.
#50 John Horan 6-2 315 RSJR.
#63 Braden Russell 6-3 270 FR

LT:
#60 Andrew Lundberg 6-5 275 RSJR
#76 Alex Cotton 6-4 280 RSJR

#64 Bryce Biggs 6-4 280 RSSO.
#79 Thomas Walsh 6-3 315 RSFR
#55 Peyton Breese 6-3 250 FR
#61 Adam Meyer 6-4 210 FR

Also side note Maceo appears to have solidified himself as most likely FR RB to receive carries

As always appreciate the update. Potentially we graduate 8 of the two deep which would be tough.

I thought they might move Meyer to TE given he is 40-50 pounds light; especially with Allton leaving.

Maybe Tanner realized how much food he'd need to intake in order to bulk up enough to play TE.

With the timing of valpofb16's mention, I wonder if the kid is going to attend the school.

#19 Anthony Lullo FR DB has left team

The next position is wide receiver:

Last year we traveled 8 (Catrine, Fox, Norberg, Koehler, Larose, Gessinger, Navarro, Rene) the primary starters were Fox, Catrine, and Rene. Navarro who led team in receiving has transferred to Illinois, Catrine has graduated, and Fox and Rene are both coming off surgeries (shoulder and hip respectfully). Norberg was a huge bright spot in the offense last year. Larose and Gessinger had moments. Ollie Reese was our top recruit. Kenny Brewer has looked good so far in camp. Markoff has switched positions and is in the mix, as well as Koehler has jumped Fox for the starting role. Stablein and Beer are still question marks.

Early Guess on Traveling (8): Rene, Norberg, Reese, Koehler, Gessinger, Larose, Fox, Markoff

Depth Chart:

Outside:
#2 Griffin Norberg 6-3 225 SR.
#17 Deuce Larose 6-0 205 SO.
#6 Ollie Reese 6-2 185 FR.
#85 Patrick McNerney 6-3 200 FR.

Outside
#12 JD Koehler 6-0 210 RSJR.
#3 Parker Fox 5-11 175 RSJR.
#13 Ryan Markoff 6-2 190 RSFR.
#7 Trey Stablein 5-11 160 RSFR.

Slot:
#1 Jean Rene 5-10 180 SR.
#23 Bailey Gessinger 5-10 165 JR.
#81 Kenny Brewer 6-1 170 FR.
#33 Conor Beer 5-9 155 RSFR.

FR DL Nasa Sete is listed at 400 pounds after weighing in at 337 his SR. year

If you look through roster there are several noticeable weight changes, It appears as if the offseason was great to our returning players

JD24

I hope that is a misprint on the weight for Sete. 6ft 400lbs is probably not a good thing....for much of any reason including football.

He probably won't have to worry about the Freshman 10!
Season Results: CBI/CIT: 2008, 2011, 2014  NIT: 2003,2012, 2016(Championship Game) 2017   NCAA: 1962,1966,1967,1969,1973,1996,1997,1998 (Sweet Sixteen),1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2015

No way.  300 is my thought because the off season program slimed him down...... hopefully
