Good to see him getting a chance at such a thing.  I really hope he can make the step up to the NBA before he is done, as he seems to have put many good seasons together in the NBDL.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Milo Stovall ended up playing for the Mad Ants. It was the Ft Wayne Coliseum where Milo missed the most important game of his career with Mono. Southern Utah in the Big Dance jog any memories?

Sorry to steal the thunder from Ron Howard but I got to thinking about Milo Stovall and what he is doing these days. Here is a story on the up and coming girls high school basketball coach. You can tell he's learning a lot about the life and trials of being a coach. The story is from 2009.

[Creston High School in Grand Rapids]Polar Bears coach Milo Stovall went through hardships last season in his first year at the helm, but is determined to steer the program in the right direction.

"It was a very frustrating season," Stovall said. "You come in with a positive attitude of just coaching and building a program, but I found out that it's a lot more than just coaching.

"You become a parent figure, you're a mentor to them and you need to help them in life more than basketball. A lot of girls had different issues and everything was new to them."

Stovall began last season with a bevy of players, but only six remained by season's end.

A nice moment for Miko Stovall and Valpo basketball when the Crusaders knocked off Ohio State in 2000 at the great Alaska Shoot Out.

And the moment that Milo really wishes he could get back:
No. 14 Arizona 74,
Valparaiso 70

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Jason Gardner's late four-point play gave Arizona the lead for good and the Wildcats won the Bank One Fiesta Bowl Classic.

Milo Stovall fouled Gardner as his 21-foot shot dropped with 1:28 left, and the free throw gave the Wildcats (8-3) to a 71-68 lead.

EDIT: Per this website Milo Stovall is no longer the girls basketball coach at Grand Rapids Creston HS.

I had forgotten that we were leading late in that game!  Oh, painful memory  :).  Is Milo still playing too?

I can still clearly see in my mind that fade away 3 from half court and press row that swished dishearteningly through the net like it was yesterday.  The foul was insult added to injury.  Homer can reminisce from his perch in the chairbacks when Loyola comes to the ARC this year.

I also remember the great upset in Alaska and the 3 OSU fans that made the trip telling me that they handed Valpo the game because the Buckeyes missed so many open shots ("We missed a bunch of those, too" was my retort).  I don't remember individual moments in that game like the Arizona game, but I remember the game.

I definitely remember the OSU game, as that was Antti's best game in a Valpo uniform

Pan Am Roster announced. Couple Wisconsin, couple ORU and a Dukie. Unfortunately Ron didn't make it.

I am sure there was some home-cooking in that decision to keep 2 ORU players.  The coach is the head coach of the Tulsa NBDL team, which one of the ORU guys plays for.

I'm guessing the ORU player on the Tulsa NBDL team has to be Moses Ehambe. I'd never heard of the other ORU player.
