Quote from: valpofb16 on January 15, 2019, 08:44:41 PM2 big commits 6'3 280 OL Stone Dixon from Cincy power House Moeller 6'1 195 LB Connor Shell from Bay in Cleveland OH Both picked VU over Dayton, Morehead St
Dixon also had an offer from Butler.  This kid is smart (3.79 GPA, 31 ACT) and very strong.  Could easily develop into an all conference lineman and, is already a Crusader!!  Shell should be a very good athlete as LB as he played both quarterback and running back in high school.
When you say "is already a Crusader" do you mean he is already enrolled?

No, I'm mean he is a Crusader as in Moeller Crusaders!
Season Results: CBI/CIT: 2008, 2011, 2014  NIT: 2003,2012, 2016(Championship Game) 2017   NCAA: 1962,1966,1967,1969,1973,1996,1997,1998 (Sweet Sixteen),1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2015

Noticed on the Coach Staff page that Coach Tulcin has left. So... there are needs at TE and LB and a STC. STC guy will need to coach one of those spots. Hoping Coach Cecch was already interviewed some quality guys.

Tulcin moving on was mentioned in another thread in December. He apparently decided to leave right after the season. This may have been a part time gig for him. Coach Greiner also has coached the LBers.

Sean Curry 6'2 215 TE from Holt, MI

RSFR DB Jake Sommers has transferred to play at Mount Union (D3 powerhouse)

IndyValpo

Coach Miran tweeted yesterday about recruit commitments. I have only seen one. Were the others guys who had previously committed?

valpofb16

Commit: Drew Engle RB 5'10 187 Clearview HS, Ohio

Commit: Jordan Curtis 6'0 182 RB , Grayslake North HS, ILL

Brings team up to 7 commits 2 weeks before signing day:

DB Donovan Earles
OL Stone Dixon
OL Joe Monahan
OL Drew Parrish
LB Sean Curry
RB Andrew Engle
RB Jordan Curtis

It appears the Kalamazoo pair Faylin Goodwin and Zonterio Weekly decommitted both have deleted their initial tweets and are openly tweeting at other schools to recruit them.

In my opinion being a fringe D2/D1-non scholarship player and committing then de committing is not a good look. several out there with the same talent

Maybe we need to put QB as a need since Seewald's been in a couple of recent pics with his right arm in a sling.

IndyValpo

We have several offers out to QB's. Cecchini visited one from FL last week. Jesse Rivera but his offer list seems to make us a long shot. Coach has been in GA, FL, CA and AZ recently. Hopefully he is closing! He visited the AZ WR mentioned earlier with offers from us and a PWO with Alabama.

Can confirm Bilinski and Seewald are out for spring

I think Markoff really could have won job this spring, especially if Jimmy is 50-50. Coming off his second shoulder surgery in 12 months I am not sure what we can expect moving forward. Feel horrible for the kid especially with his father passing and everything

Does the redshirt FR QB have skills?

valpofb16

Heard he has a cannon for an arm, not much other info

Noticed yet another coach is gone... DL/S&C Tony Rouse is no longer on the coaches page. S & C role is critical this time of year. Any one know if someone has filled that role?

Yeah. Not a good time to not have the strength and conditioning coach on staff particularly as this is when teams are doing the bulk of the strength and conditioning.

I don't recall this being mentioned or when it happened (likely at the coaching change at Lehigh) but Valpo's TE coach the last couple of years, Matt Ford, has gone to Lehigh.

Staff is dwindling.

Wow!  Ashton looks like the real deal.  Can make all the throws and can run.  My guess is that bigger programs passed because he is undersized at 6'.

Akil Mitchell appears to be a RB or, at least, his highlights present him as such.
