Not surprising that the defense dominated on a tough weather day. Sounds as if Nimz had a nice day and Duncan and Mullen didn't do a whole lot including tossing it to the defense a few times. Nimz's shoulder is apparently fine.

Seewald is apparently back where he was last year in that he's throwing but not game ready.

Notes from spring from what I've heard, did not make spring game

QB-Seewald is out until fall, Duncan did not really do much to impress new staff, belief is that if Seewald is not ready to go Nimz will get every chance to start with a youth movement
RB- Staff is extremely high on Allison that means Boxrucker or Cartales (both missed SG) could slip out of rotation.
WR- Not extremely thrilled by talent level here hunch is Figaro gets his recruits in the mix ASAP
OL-Veteran group expect many of the same faces back
DL-Reed and Gedrys are Fox favorites, Twigg is in plans. Not heard much else.
LB-Turner, Psota, Messler, Peifer should all play here
CR-Petrie and Skarecky in a battle
CB-Same as WR look for Fox to get his guys in maybe not this year but by 2020
S- Booker/Scarsella are set lack depth

Spring 2018 assessment: Extremely proud staff came in late, put together a full spring, and maintained 70+ kids on roster with almost a full 2019 roster set before May. I think defense we will see a lot of familiar faces come fall however offense could be a young run heavy group. Fox has a foundation in place, kept most of the 2018 recruits. If attrition is not bad next spring the program will be in a similar position as it was Spring of 2017. Young team with a lot of returning players.

Looking forward to the next era of Valpo Football

I agree with the head coach everyone is at square 1.  The weather made the spring game unreliable on performance.
If you know football you know that is true.

I'm sure Fox's staff has switched their recruiting focus already toward the next incoming class, but here's hoping some energy is still being expended finding a couple of JUCO players to shore up some weak spots.
