Unless VanderWal is a country music fan I don't see a reason why he is visiting Lipscomb unless he is highly religious.  Lipscomb is in a crummy conference and academically aren't close to Valpo or Loyola.
Season Results: CBI/CIT: 2008, 2011, 2014  NIT: 2003,2012, 2016(Championship Game) 2017   NCAA: 1962,1966,1967,1969,1973,1996,1997,1998 (Sweet Sixteen),1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2015

I took a slow drive through campus earlier this week. A truly beautiful place. Unfortunately, a campus visit right now is like walking through a new car lot when the dealership is closed.

With Jacob Ognacevic moving to Lipscomb I wonder if his "negative" view of Valpo gets used against Valpo in the recruiting pitch. I don't know their coaching staff's character, but this College Basketball and recruiting is a dirty business...

I've come to learn from a highly reliable source there's a whole other side to the Jacob Ognacevic story that does not portray him too favorably, but unfortunately, "his truth" is all anyone will ever know publicly.

Indeed, as is the case with Clay.  We will only hear their side of the story, as Lottich/Valpo will never acknowledge the other rumors.

Yes engaging publicly would just be a negative for the program.

Well, we need that guy for his name alone.  Every basket, I would shout, 'MAXIMUSSSSSSSSSSS'

And every time he dunks or hits a three

He has a hair trigger release with an uncanny similarity to Alec Peters' jump shot. Impressive.

Wow! This kid has a really quick release and some serious hops!  Love it!

I would love to see this kid choose Valpo.  Although from a smaller school, he can fill it up.  He would also create much more interest in VU in the northern/northeast/Ft. Wayne area.  His school is in Noble County just a little northwest of Ft. Wayne.  In a way his shooting really does remind one of Alec Peters and in a way he even looks a little like Alec.

Seems even a little quicker on the first step and on the drive than Alex and yes the shot really does look similar!

Connor is a 6'4" 190lb shooting guard, so not the same position or body as Alex. I have seen him play in person a couple of times and his shot up top is as good as it gets, his lower body gets out of position sometimes when he shoots off the curl or rushes the shot. I feel pretty confident he could be a very good shooter in our league. Here is a link to one of the games I attended right before I got sick. https://www.facebook.com/hometownmedia1/videos/681581686055179 Connor had 19 in the first half. I rather watch a full game instead of highlights. Here are two more from this past season. https://youtu.be/m8jUourhMSE   https://youtu.be/_ifuA6cRgmE?t=5722

Connor Essegian picked up another offer on Monday from NKU. That makes at least 5 offers in order 1. Bellmont, 2. Western Michigan, 3. IUPUI, 4. Valpo and 5. NKU.

A new offer. One of the best prospects in Illinois.

I guess Nick forgot about or didn't get the news about the mascot change. "Hey, dude, you're a Beacon, not a Crusader."

Take my opinion with a grain of salt but I really think Connor Essegian could be the current offer if he committed who could be a program leading player if he committed to Valpo. He may be getting overlooked by Power 5 schools or they see him as a bench rotation guy rather than key cog like Mid Majors do. The kid can absolutely ball and he plays with fluidity and not just athleticism like many kids do, imo. I really like his game and I know the coaching staff really likes him as well.

And a few hours later he's offered by Loyola... we don't win many if any of these recruiting battles since their final 4 run...

JFL was offered by Loyola at the time he committed but Coach Dildy was a family friend and I believe he was looking for early playing time which wouldn't have happened at Loyola that year.
