From the looks of things on Washington is we were a last stop type deal. Didnt get starting role at ODU.

Pure athleticism wise he is comfortably Valpos best recruit in the Rivals/247 era. That being said, 4 schools in five years is interesting.

Who knows maybe he is just wanting playing time here which he presumably will find. In terms of jumping back up to FBS he could get a shot based off of season, although Turner was a multi all conference performer in PFL and did not get an offer in the portal

Saw some pictures of today's scrimmage. One picture was odd and perhaps a bit disturbing. It's apparently special teams with the scout team wearing a red-ish scarf-like apparel around their necks. I assume this is to identify the scout team so they can mix O and D uniforms. Are they practicing how to horse collar tackle or perhaps how to choke out your opponent? Normally the scout team identifier is some sort of cap worn over the helmet and not potentially a lethal weapon.

Anyone know if this is now standard?

JD i wouldnt read too too much into that.

Starting OL yesterday R-L was

LT: Byrd RSSO
LG: Orr FR
C: Dixon RSFR
RG: Filtes RSFR
RT Parrish RSFR

Just need about 2-3 more seasons to feel comfortable here

Turf and Grid Iron Dad

JD - can't wear the helmet beanies on the Guardian Caps.

The fall scrimmage is helping that OL. Not having games is benefiting them especially with new position coach.

Looks like they are building a foundation on the o line for the long term, which is great.
With all the freshman recruits that came in and COVID and limited practice, it has to be a challenge to keep them engaged and keeping them on campus and not going juco.

Similar to Jason Garrett's nephew a number of years ago spending a portion of spring ball at Valpo.

Where was he on the depth chart?

valpofb16

Garretts nephew was third behind Lehman and Staal,

Beck I have no idea. Depth chart news looking bleak. Although this may be best retention rate from freshman in VPO history
