Butler Savannah State game

Butler is losing at home to a terrible Savannah State team 20-17 at the half.

Fortunately, the Bulldogs played better in the 2nd half.  Final score 57-42. 

Detroit, WSU and GB all lost tonight.

After scoring just 17 points in the first half on 33% shooting from the floor and 17% shooting from the free throw line, Butler received a lift off the bench from a pair of freshmen, Jackson Aldridge (right) and Roosevelt Jones, in the final period. Both players scored eight points in the second half, and both finished with a career-high 10 points for the game.  Both also contributed a pair of steals to Butler's defensive effort.


Those certainly aren't typical numbers from Butler, especially the 17% FT shooting in the first half. But as you can see the talented freshmen, Aldridge and Jones, bailed out Butler in the second half and will be something Valpo will need to be aware of going into the game on Dec. 3rd.

Right now Butler appears to be playing to the level of its competition.  In this case Savannah State was so bad that it did not matter so Butler took over in the second half.  If we ever had a chance to beat Butler in Indy this is it.  They will be getting better so hopefully we can beat them before we do.
