Fairleigh-Dickinson deserves all the credit in the world for their effort - they played attacking style basketball for all 40 minutes. But Matt Painter coached a terrible game. Never punished FDU when they beat FDU's press. Never adjusted offense (or defense).

Drake played a good game, just suffered from a (surprisingly) bad game from Tucker DeVries.

So who had Florida Atlantic vs San Diego State in the Final Four?

No?

You could see it coming a mile away. Well, at least I saw the four # 1 seeds not making it.

FAU loses a heartbreaker. Ken LaVicka, the voice of FAU basketball, is a Valpo grad, class of '06. If you're able to find a recording of him, his cadences are shockingly (or maybe not) similar to Todd's. The influence is undeniable. Congratulations to that program on their great run.

I watched the Iowa women play undefeated and defending national champion S. Carolina Friday in the Final Four semifinal. Caitlin Clark may be the best woman player I've ever seen at the college level. She has had 40+ points in ea. of her last 2 games - Elite and Final4. They play LSU today for the national championship. LSU's coach is Kim Mulkey from Baylor. Only her 2nd year at LSU. They were nothing before.

Just a side note, Kim Mulkey's son is Kramer Robertson, a professional baseball player with the St Louis Cardinals farm system. In 2022 he played a few games in the MLB when a number of Cardinal players got injured.

Personal life
Robertson's mother is Kim Mulkey, current head coach of the LSU women's basketball team. He has an older sister, Makenzie, who played college basketball at Baylor.[2][10]

Robertson began the 2019 season with the Springfield Cardinals,[14] and also spent time with the Memphis Redbirds. Over 123 games between the two clubs, he slashed .231/.360/.365 with 11 home runs, 51 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.[15] He was selected to play in the Arizona Fall League for the Glendale Desert Dogs following the season.[16] Robertson did not play in a minor league game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.[17] Robertson played for Memphis in 2021[18] and began the season with Memphis in 2022.[19]

On May 10, 2022, the Cardinals promoted Robertson to the major leagues.[20] He made his MLB debut that night as a pinch runner.[21] He was designated for assignment on June 3.[22]

Kramer is currently an infielder for the Memphis Redbirds in AAA looking for a call up to the Cardinals again this season.

Caitlin Clark is the Pete Maravich of women's basketball.  Flat out electrifying.  Didn't quite have enough today but she has one more year before she goes pro.
