VU WSO rebounded from a 1-4 loss at Purdue with a 1-1 draw against Kentucky in Lexington.  Nice recovery ladies.

The Beacons are picked #2 in the MVC and are currently 2-1-1 with the last two games being played against FBS/P5 programs. John is not just fattening up his W-L record with cream puffs.  This is a challenging OOC schedule with only 3 home games and five on the road.

Valparaiso scored in the eighth minute off one of their eight corner kicks in the half. Kelsie James served the ball in for Lindsey Dusatko, as she finished the play with a header.

Belmont showed tremendous fight and resilience in a physical match. In the second half, Belmont had opportunities for an equalizer, but failed to convert.

Valparaiso won the match, 1-0, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the MVC Championship.

Missouri State will be tough, but we have the talent to beat both them and Drake

Valpo 1 Missouri State 0 in double OT. Between this and regular season 200 minutes, one goal. Drake beating UIC 2-0 through 30 minutes

Well, I guess our flagship MVC sport over the last two years is.........................    WSO 😀

Let's go Valpo!  After coming so close to an NCAA bid 3 seasons ago, in losing to Loyola in the title game, and then bowing out in the semi-finals after the regular season title last season, these ladies can do it this season!  If we get that first goal, our coach and team know how to play lockdown defense, and we have the best GK in the league.

We win the MVC championship and NCAA bid 1-0, with a goal in the final 9 minutes!  Congrats and well-deserved, as we should have been in the top 3 this season, based on last season.  I look forward to the pairing announcement.

Great win against #1 seed Drake and their huge crowd!  Very cool also that President Padilla was on the sidelines! :thewave:

NCAA pairings will be announced Monday at 3pm.  The last two times, we got to play Notre Dame. The Irish beat us 5-0 a few months ago.

I assume that you mean a few years ago, or was this an exhibition that doesn't show up?  We last played ND during a regular season game around 8 years back (6-0), and lost to them the prior year (2014) in the first round of the NCAA tournament 1-0.

Yes, Exhibition game... not on the Valpo site... but the Notre Dame site... August 12th

I'm wondering whether or not the Valley is respected enough to give Drake an at-large bid.

I'll answer my own question:  No.  Latest RPI had Missouri State ranked 101, Drake 105, UNI 137 and Valpo 146

We've received at-large bids for MVC Men's Soccer, but I believe Women's Soccer has been some time

Valpo at #3 seed Notre Dame Saturday 11/11  5pm Central (6pm Eastern)
Winner advances to play winner of
LSU - #6 seed Memphis

does feel strange that the Valley (or Missouri Conference as was reported at the pairings) only got one bid, and the Ivy League got FOUR?

NotBryceDrew

Ivy League had 4 teams in the top 20 RPI. MVCs best team (MS) didn't even crack 100.

Valpofamfan

Anyone heard anything about tickets for the Notre Dame game?

vu72

Valpo leads Notre Dame 0-0 at the half! ;)

Going down to ND 2-0 is a great reflection on our WSO program. The recruiting carrot is huge.

Congrats to the women of our soccer team. The future is bright.

Scoreless tie at the half and losing 2-0 against the #3 team in the country is very impressive. Valpo's women's team belonged there and held their own. From the box score, my guess is that Valpos goalie (Coryell) was amazing.

Great season for the ladies team!
