Was just over on their board and went to a section where they discuss other teams.  Some pretty funny stuff and even made up stuff supposedly posted by me!

Here is what BlackPatherU wrote on May 8 about ryan Broekhoff and our prospects for the current season:

Sorry Valpo, you're gonna suck next year.

Let's see Broekhoff score like he did this year when he's the main focus of opposing defenses

Then on May 12, after the Will Bogan transfer news, the same guy wrote:

I haven't looked at the new Valpo Fan Zone for a couple days, but I'm sure they're talking about their impending championship.

Then on May 12, ghostofdylan made up something I supposedly wrote:

This is it. The final piece. The coups de grâce. The pièces de résistance.

Funny stuff.  I wish I had said it!

When have Milwaukee fans been anything better than message board thugs?

Don't you think this stuff is a little harsh, fellas?

You know that what I attributed to 72 was said in jest, right? He does have the reputation of being an extreme apologist here, even by some of the most die-hard VU fans.

How many of you guys forecast a Horizon League championship this year for the Crusaders after the team lost Brandon, Cory, Howard and Michael?

Being in first place midway through the league season is a real tribute to Bryce and his staff and players, but there's a lot of basketball left to be played.

Recall that I cheer for you guys in the non-conference and in games that don't hurt my alma mater or the league's standing relative to other leagues (the last few years against Butler.)

Best wishes the rest of the season ... except, of course, on Saturday at The Cell. :)

My statement was made regarding our ability to 'suck.'  We have shown year in and year out in the HL so far that we can compete regardless of turnover.  We simply aren't the type of school who is going to 'suck' in any given year.  I can think of one year in the last 18+ seasons where we could be considered in that category.

You're a real intelligent poster and very true supporter of the Horizon League teams, dylanrocks. Many many on the Milwaukee board and at Panther games are not. Same is true of the Valpo board and Valpo fans.

I'll be first to admit I was totally wrong about Broekhoff.  If you look to December or so, I completely backed off.

Couldn't have been you, 72.  We know your French is better than that.

It's ok, panther.  I don't think anyone could have anticipated Ryan going from 3rd option last year to contender for HL POY this year.  Good luck tomorrow in the HL game of the week.  I will be watching.

Contender? In my mind, he's the undeniable frontrunner.

If not Broekhoff, who?

matt howard will swoop in and steal it and then go back to whatever it is he's doing.  ;)

Speaking of Matt Howard, he was released by his Greek team, Olympicois (sp?), and his agent is currently looking for another team in Europe to sign him. Apparently due to the quota of Greek players in that league, there aren't many spots for foreign players and Howard has been trying to heal from an injury and his team finally determined that they had given Matt enough time.
