My opinion remains that one of our primary goals for this season is to properly prepare for the following 18-19 version. From that perspective this becomes a win for Lexus, a win for Boise St, and a draw or win for Valpo as well. Pretty rare when that can be said from this type of move.

I don't know about you folks but I will be watching some Bronco basketball this year.     Go Lexus!

Couldn't the WC Bulls have, at least, put Brandon's school designation as Valparaiso/Michigan State instead of just Michigan State. That says a lot about how the G League teams feel about players from mid-majors. It's almost like being a second class citizen.

Couldn't the WC Bulls have, at least, put Brandon's school designation as Valparaiso/Michigan State instead of just Michigan State. That says a lot about how the G League teams feel about players from mid-majors. It's almost like being a second class citizen.

At the professional level, they look more at the last school attended, not the cumulative number of schools. We have to remember, Wood's undergrad was Valpo, but "grad school" was Michigan State.

Brandon and I are friends and we communicated during his time at MSU.  My recollection is that he had a "very light" schedule of classes and he certainly didn't hang around after his one year there.  It is an almost certainty that he didn't gain a Masters Degree.

David Skara and the Clemson Tigers play their first game of this year (exhibition game tonight against Augusta). Here is the story.

To me it will be interesting to see how the situation that brought much drama to Valpo ends.

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson men's basketball program will take on Augusta University in an exhibition contest inside Littlejohn Coliseum on Thursday, November 2 at 7 p.m.

This will mark the first of two exhibition games that the Tigers will host. Clemson will host Tennessee on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 12:30 p.m. as part of a Hurricane Relief exhibition with all proceeds and donations benefitting the Salvation Army's continued relief efforts.

Clemson returns two starters and eight lettermen off of the 2016-17 team that finished with a postseason berth in the NIT. Included in the list of returning lettermen is guard Shelton Mitchell who returns as the Tigers' leading scorer (10.8 ppg) and guard Marcquise Reed who also returns as a double-digit per game scorer (10.0 ppg).

Forward Donte Grantham was named to CBS's Jon Rothstein's Top 20 Breakout Players for the 2017-18 season. Clemson also welcomes six newcomers to the squad.

The regular season opens on Friday, November 10 against Western Carolina University. Regular-season tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling 1-800-CLEMSON or visiting ClemsonTigers.com.

I liked Skara and wished we still had him, but the player we got in his place was Burton. It's too early to say but in a round about way we may have upgraded in that debacle.

They beat NAIA College of Idaho by 5, 74-69.  They were down by 5 at the half. Lexus tied for the top in defensive rebounds and was 1 off in total RBs.  He missed all three of his shots from the floor.
