It wasn't quite confirmed but very reliable sources are saying that Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana will become the next president at Purdue University.

The Butler fans are wondering if the governor will still be attending Butler basketball games......duh!

Also former Butler and Iowa basketball coach, Todd Lickliter, has taken the head coaching job at the Marian University Knights in Indianapolis.

Since this story Lickliter was officially named the head mens basketball coach at Marian University.

So John Grimes finally retires after 36 or 37 years.  Last time we played his team at their Elmendorf tournament we (IT) were ranked in the top 10 or 15 and they were not going to have a very good year.  We came in cocky and they handed us our heads.  Grimes and Marian had played VU earlier that week and lost by 30.  While they had a good season last year I would say that Lickliter has fallen off the high horse if he is taking this job.  Maybe he made enough money at Iowa.   ::)

After Todd Lickliter and his son, John, left Iowa, John finished his college career, I believe one year, at Marian University. I think Todd just wanted to stay in Indy and this school was familiar and was looking for a coach.

Todd's father was head coach at North Central High School in Indy for about as long as Grimes was at Marian.

Todd was an assistant this past season at Miami(OH).

Has he made a verbal commitment or signed a letter of intent yet?  ;)

The Purdue Board of Trustees on this morning unanimously selected Indiana Gov. Mitchell E. Daniels Jr. to be the university's next president. Great get for Purdue!

I wonder how Gov. Daniels will feel about education now that he has a new job in the industry.  As a public school teacher...I'm not a big fan of this hire

Perhaps Daniels will sell Purdue's assets to foreign investors, just as he did the Indiana tollroad ???

If he could then he would be even more of a genius.  The timing of the sale was either brilliant or incredibly lucky.  Indiana got $3.8 billion that was used to improve and expand other roads.  All this just before the financial markets collapsed.  Now, the foreign operator is in deep financial trouble.  How much more trouble would the State of Indiana been in if they had tried to run the thing over this period?
If the operator fails Indiana gets it back together with improvements and keeps the $3.8 billion.  Sheer genius.

Sounds like a quote from Simon Palomares. He wrote the famous documentary "Ko Ho Nas (Cojones)"

http://www.famouswhy.com/List/c/Australians_of_Spanish_descent/

Plot Summary for
Ko Ho Nas (Cojones) (2009) (TV)

KO HO NAS is a humorous examination of a cross cultural 'mid-life crisis'. Simon Palomares of 'Wogs Out of Work' fame, returns to Spain to visit his ailing father while also struggling to find out where he truly belongs. Is it Spain or Australia? In a bid to discover the answer, he enters the gladiatorial arena of Spanish stand up comedy and not unlike a bullfight, to succeed he must prove he has the KO HO NAS to see the journey through the very end. The story is about how he goes back to Spain and tries to find himself spiritually with the help of Jorge Segura. The documentary displays his struggle with himself and how he comes out as a winner.
