Did the other schools have a lot of scholarships to give or something? Signing are coming in all over the place but VU is radio silent.
A blockbuster building cornerstone would be wonderful but a blockbuster explosion might revert us to the Stone Age. Getting rock basketballs properly inflated has always been tricky.At this point with Small bailing and Pettipiece getting busted, Roger: Please do a blockbuster xfer signing. Soon. Actually sooner. Please! Our university is riding on your shoulders. But of course, there’s no pressure.

New arena renderings. Blockbuster signing. Powell popping in to say hello. I'll take anything at this point. Just something to break the silence.

There is 1272 D1 players in Transfer Portal, only 79 have committed to new schools. We have two schloraships open, we need to get the best fit. I trust the Valpo staff is active and we will be very excited about who sign.
The transfer portal is a relatively new development, yet many of our very best players have come to campus without much excitement or visibility. Think of Cooper Schwieger last year for example, how much did we know about him? Next to nothing. For every well-known signee like Bryce Drew or Alec Peters, there is a Ryan Broekhoff or Vashil Fernandez.
At this point, I trust this coaching staff to make the best decisions for the future of the program, and don't especially care if there is not much news for now.
For those looking eagerly for names to consider, here is a list of 13 players who claim "interest" from Valpo. However, remember "interest" doesn't necessarily mean an offer is forthcoming. Also, there are others who are under consideration but not on this list.

@valpopal How do these numbers compare to the Lottich era. I'd assume we are talking with a lot more players under the Powell era
It seems as if, during March madness Lottich signed several players very quickly after the exodus. Sigaurd L, Emil F Vilien. Ben Krikke etc.... Don't recall all the players in that signing class, but I think Ben was the only one that worked out. Powell can be afford to be more selective than last year. Signing Cooper late in the recruiting period last year was a great sign. We are all salivating to see who the signings will be over the next few weeks or days.
@rezynezy Who is Quintin Garrison?
Quintin Garrison arrived at Valpo as Special Assistant to the Head Coach prior to the 2023-24 season after previously serving as the associate head coach at Trinity International University, where he had been part of the staff since 2018. Prior to that, he spent six seasons on the coaching staff at Bolingbrook High School in Illinois and helped the team to a 94-26 record over his final four seasons. Garrison has coached and developed two NBA players and five others who have gone on to play professionally in Europe.
In 2014, Garrison founded Hoopers Basketball Club, a travel basketball organization. He operated as a coach and director of operations and recruiting. Garrison graduated from the University of Illinois in 2005 with a degree in finance. He and his wife Kay have two children, daughter Audrey and son Gavin.
We do have one public offer—Jimmie Williams of Wallace State. Looking forward to seeing if the boom is him or a mystery player.
I really need to brush up on my VU tricks now. I cannot just be know as "That kid who reffed the middle schoolers at the ISU game" for much longer.
