Not MVC related but Calipari is apparently headed to Arkansas and Scott Drew's name has come up as a potential replacement at UK.
@jd24 Scotts name comes up as a suitor for a lot of programs. I don't see him moving to UK as his family has an emphasis of faith and the families previous coaching jobs shows they prefer Christian institutions
I can't see Scott going to Kentucky. That is an opportunity that seems great, but unless you are winning titles, you are always on the hot seat. I see him retiring from Baylor, as he makes good money, his team is fully supported by the university in funding/NIL, and the Big 12 is a top basketball conference
@valpotx It all depends on the importance of financial compensation. Drew will likely make at least triple of what he makes at Baylor. Scott also is a master recruiter. May be a decent fit.
@usc4valpo I'd agree if not for the precedent set by the Drew family. Homer could have also gone anywhere he wanted after the success in the 90s and 00s. LIke I said, it seems to me from an outside perspective that the Drews value the worth of religious schools and have deep faith connections. I feel like he will retire with Baylor regardless of his paycheck. Its not like Baylor doesn't have money after all.
There is no way that Scott would make triple the money at Kentucky. That would be over $15 million a year. I believe that Scott would prefer to be part of Christian University and therefore stay at Baylor.
If Scott did go would Baylor consider Bryce to replace him?
@tjjvalpo if you look at more endorsements, etc., I would say it’s there.
@vu75 I think Scott is an overall better collegiate coach than Bryce, in fact, it’s pretty evident.
Scott Drew's name is still out there behind Donovan and Pitino. Others considered who've said they wouldn't take it are D. Hurley, Nate Oats and Jay Wright. If Drew was a definite no I assume we'd know that by now since his name came up almost immediately after Calipari's news came out.
@jd24 Drew seems to be always in conversation amongst analysts. Always funny going into his replies and seeing fans of other schools try to coax him when he most likely is not doing to coach there.

Usually reliable sources report Scott has been offered the Kentucky job. It is his if he wants it.
I can't think of a top D-1 program that is more of an opposite mentality versus Scott Drew than Kentucky. Bryce at Vandy made sense on many levels. Scott Drew at Kentucky would be...wtf?
Drew knows how to recruit, and he might be the right coach for the blue blood school. He cannot advance any farther at Baylor.
Scott has turned down the Kentucky offer.
