The Drews - an amazing family!
Anyone who was in attendance Saturday, curious your thoughts, observations. I was unable to make it.
I do dispute the preface about not being a good enough writer. Discussing someone's life and impact from the eyes of their grandchild is a wonderful approach. Well done.
@burnee77 I attended from about 3:30-5 p.m. A lot of Valpo people, a lot of Baylor people and others I didn't recognize. Homer spoke first, followed by Bryce, Dana and Scott. They were all outstanding. I sat a couple rows behind most of the grandkids, and actually President Padilla and his wife ended up sitting next to me. I didn't get a chance to talk to any Drews because they were so busy talking to others, and I had to leave for a family outing. I did meet LaPhonso Ellis, and I told him I was in attendance in December, 1988 for the "Miracle on Union Street." He enjoyed the story. Janet was quite a lady, I got to meet her when they still lived in Valpo and it was always a pleasure speaking with her. I'm excited about Isaiah Shaw joining the program and Homer returning to Valpo to watch some games.
