Hearing that Valpo MBB got a verbal, but the kid is holding off on announcing until he can do an announcement at his school. Apparently they've got an art project going up at the school and he wants to do something related to that.
In the old days a guy would verbal to the coaches and that would be it. Different world with social media now.

Just picked up a committment from JT Pettigrew out of Bolingbrook. Held an offer from Arizona State among others.

@vulb62 My doubts in the transfer portal and NIL world have been alieviated, albeit very minimally. This kid held a lot of offers from big name schools where more money was likely, yet he decided to go to the smalltime private school with not much money to give their athletes. I think this kid is going to thrive.
I no longer care about highlights! I just want to know if recruits are a fit for a Roger Powell led Valpo basketball future. The more fits that he finds the more the misfits (if we have any) will stand out.
This is exactly why you don't just pick up whatever Johnny 5 Star is looking your way. Acquiring players that fit your team and your coaching staff is an excellent choice for a multitude of reasons. Getting a player that is a good fit and can easily mesh and create chemistry is a player that is more likely to be loyal to your org in this era. Powell is looking like the man for the job in turning this program around.
