Roosevelt comes off a strong performance in a 14-24 loss to Wisconsin Whitewater , believe this game won’t be an absolute push over. But I do not think their offense will be able to move the ball against the Beacons.
200+ rushing yards and good defense leads to a
24-7 Beacons win!
Valpo 31
Roosevelt 14
This should be a quick an easy win, but as we have seen with CFB this year, nothing can come quick and easy
Beacs - 27
Roosevelt -20
UW-Whitewater is currently rated the #3 D-III team in the country. Roosevelt hanging with them for most of the game suggests it will be tougher than originally thought. So that 27-20 prediction is a good one.
I would also add that Roosevelt is a NCAA DII program. So, all four 2024 OOC opponents are scholarship programs. I might be wrong, but I think that may be a first.
The motivation has got to be there. A win evens the record at 2-2 going into the PFL schedule. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Ok Valpo, you guys say you’re a Div 1 football program. This is a ham and egger game. Show you are a D1 program instead of one in name only. Walk the walk.
Valpo 41, Roosevelt 7.
@usc4valpo No, not a ham and egger. A 14 point winning margin is a reasonable expectation against a NCAA DII scholly program, but a 34 point margin is not.
Last season we barely beat another DII program, SWMinnesota State 16-15. Don’t sell DII short.
Ok 62, I get it, but we need to quit thinking Valpo is true D1 program when we operate like we’re D3. Roosevelt should be an ham and egger in reality.
I mean... the PFL isn't really a high intensity conference to begin with. Most of the members of the PFL are historic basketball schools who came together because they wanted to sponsor D1 football. For most of these schools, they dont have the funds to sponsor a full scholarship football team. Its either don't sponsor football at all, or play in the PFL.

Others are a little more gentle in their response.
Let's just say you've never quite gotten it.
Ok, I get it. I just get peeved when players boast being on a D1 program when you have to remain competitive against D2 and NAIA teams. I can agree and live with @rezynezy comment.

Honestly, Valparaiso gets a lot of guys to play football at the school BECAUSE it is a D1 program. These guys have a dream to play Division I football and have a dream to become engineers. If everything was the exact same (classes, facilities, level of competition), but Valpo was a D2 or D3 program, I bet a lot of these guys wouldn't come here. So, yes, Valparaiso is absolutely a D1 program.
Wish the ESPN feed would sort itself out , listening to The Source, we just went 3 and out on Offense , need to be more creative on O…
Yeah someone didn't flick a switch on the ESPN side, still says starting soon
@thevictorybell You’re absolutely correct. From my experience, I had talked with a few D3 and D2 schools, along with Valpo and another PFL school. Being D1 definitely factored into my decision to go to Valpo, plus it was close to home and the business program was very strong.
The opportunity to play full scholarship FCS schools once or twice a year is a huge in recruiting. It’s a chance to try and one-up schools that may have overlooked you.
