Gonzaga to the PAC-(Whatever)

I predict the Pac-XX will add UNLV for all sports despite UNLV saying they are committed to the Mountain West. Gaining the Las Vegas market and playing football games in Allegiant Stadium will motivate the Pac-XX to cut a good deal. Such a deal could pull Nevada with them. There has been some mention of Grand Canyon and Saint Mary's entering in the same manner as Gonzaga, but I don't see that happening (Grand Canyon because too many Presidents won't want to associate with GCU, Saint Mary's because it is just too small). Pac-XX may try to get one of the giant enrollment Texas schools (North Texas, Texas State) that currently plays in one of the lower tier conferences.

Another prediction is that the Mountain West is going to be in a real predicament, especially if teams stay loyal to the American conference. I predict their solution could be trying to get NDSU and SDSU to join FBS. Strong fan bases, good financials, and football programs that can compete with the remaining MWC teams now.

NDSU and SDSU stadiums are too small to go D1A

@usc4valpo NCAA got rid of the stadium restrictions on joining FBS. Its only the high price tag of 5 million dollars.

NDSU and SDSU both drew over 18,000 for their home games so far (to their maximums). My guess would be a move to D1A would further increase demand (better opponents) which could drive an expansion - though an expansion might be more difficult for NDSU since they play in a domed stadium.

UTEP going to the MWC and there are rumors that since Texas State turned down the MWC, that the MWC is trying to talk Tarleton State into going FBS.

Tarleton state is also opening a new and improved basketball facility here pretty soon. They want to go big 

Those fighting farmers in Stephenville definitely have grand ambitions, and they have been successful in the transition from D2 to D1 in many sports.  I play baseball with a few guys that played at Tarleton, and they are loving the attention.
