Where do you see canceled?  I just see postponed.  Hopefully they can just move the game to Valpo at year-end.

I wonder what the financial cost of playing a game in Florida might be?  Flying what? 50 players plus staff and training folks plus equipment?  How many players typically travel?  In any event, it's a pretty big number which most likely won't be spent this year.

Being D1 in football, discussing cost savings from a postponed football is pretty depressing

Well, we also don't have an 100,000 seat stadium and charge $175 for a pretty bad seat!

@vu72, I get it, but when just discussing cost savings from a postponed road trip, it really reflects where we are, and it is kind of depressing.

Likely the game would be moved to first Saturday in December, if it is played at all. Both teams play through Nov 23 and the following week is Thanksgiving weekend. Typically there is disbursement of students/athletes during that time. This is, of course, if Spec Martin is available and not already booked for some other event.

My guess is that it is less than 50-50 the game gets played.

So here is Coach Fox's Weekly Coaches Show.  Brandon (I love all he does for Valpo and his superior reporting) continues to, however, offer very softball questions.

What I found VERY interesting was Fox's pretty obvious shots at the administration's support or lack thereof for his program.  When asked why St. Thomas has been so successful, he said " It's important to THEM, they do a real good job of supporting the program."  He also said, in another not so veiled shot at Valpo's lack of support, when answering about their staff and how long they have been at St Thomas..."when you have continuity really good things happen"

Frustration setting in??

Well, he is stating facts. St. Thomas football has been well supported for several decades with a lot of tradition and success back when they were D3. It’s truly a part of their identity. I’m north sure I would take it more than that.

Vickory is a nice guy.

@usc4valpo 0 insight but I wouldn’t be shocked if this was the last Fox season and It would be his decision. The ability to retain people (players & coaches) at Valparaiso is a school wide problem. Can get a Washington, Machi, or a good senior class. But the tools for sustainability are a system wide failure.

Two winning seasons in now 21 years with one being a Covid shortened season and the other being plus a game over .500. I honestly feel for Fox, 3 ADs, 4 OCs , I believe 5 OL coaches. Would be tough for anyone
