Sagarin D1 ratings has Valparaiso ranked 261, Marist is 262, and Mississippi Valley State is 263. These are the bottom of the Sagarin ratings. If it were t for the Delta Devils, this matchup would have a great College Gameday event.
Marist 17, Valpo 14.
It feels like the play calling on offense is getting way too predictable. Need to find a way to move the ball besides force feeding Mansaray.
Needed to come away with points there. Can’t come up with a turnover on downs when you start at the Marist 21 yard line.
Well, the defense continues to be the only FCS team to not give up a 4th down conversion
No bad wins. Valpo has three wins matching last years win total. Caron is 3-1 as a starter, no need to mess with the RSFR anymore (albeit the competition was bottom of PFL level 3/4 wins).
Butler appears to be at another level than Valparaiso. If Stetson reschedules maybe we get Dayton and Stetson. Don’t think Davidson happens.
5-7 but the vast majority of our players playing on defense are senior level students. Mansaray is our best offensive player and a senior as well. The future looks uncertain
The Sagarin rankings turned out to be as on-target as any rankings could be. And Usc4valpo got the score right if you flip the teams.
An away win is nothing to sneeze at. I also saw a social media pic where the players visited the 9/11 Memorial in lower Manhattan. It's about building good character and visiting another part of the country, as well as playing football. All good.

I did not see the game. I could not follow on live stats. But I did finally get the final score and box score stats. Great to see the win. But………..
Why is it that “we” could see early on that we had a pretty good RB xfer-in from SD and a young, dynamic, dual threat QB who, together, could make an impact if the two were given a solid opportunity and scheme to prove themselves over time?
Yet, it has taken this far in the season for our staff to recognize this? As documented by Paul on TVB, the constant waffling among the QBs has, in effect, delayed the development of what, at least, I recognized as our centerpiece QB for the next three years. This is a kid you can recruit around. As he matures, this is a kid who can reproduce some stuff Lass and Macchi did back in the day.
In all candor, I think the last dual threat QB we’ve had since 2013 has been the year when Ben Lehmann QBed Dave Cecchini’s initial season — they were a handful of points away from a 7-4 season. Before Ben and after Ben we had been looking more for pure passers, and with some spurts nullified by an incredible amount of injuries, few have panned out for more than one season.
just blowing off some steam.
Funny how the memory works. I wouldn't have considered Ben Lehman as dual threat but he would run the ball 4 or 5 times a game including one particular run in which he pulled the ball out of the RBs chest and ran out the back door for about 50 yards. He wasn't particularly fast but he'd keep the defense honest.
Tyler just needs to run the offense until it is determined he's not the best guy.

Your recollection is very good, 24. Ben was not spectacular as either just a passer or just a breakaway runner. But he could do both pretty well and he was resilient. Some of my best memories of the way he played was his ability to roll out and whip an accurate midrange pass completion on the run without breaking stride (though a pass, I kinda classify it as a run that ended in a pass 🙄).
Marrial Shields is probably our last QB to truly be a dual threat QB. Macchi would run if he had to, but not like Shields would.
Also, I wanted to point out that the football stats are a bit off. It looks like Tyler Threat is given stats for rushing/passing, and both he and Tyler have apparently played in more games than the overall team has played this season.

Thanks... I've gone through and cleaned everything up, so should be in good shape now. A few growing pains with the new website. If you notice anything else, feel free to let me know.
