The spread is -10.5. Lets hope we've figured out somethings in practice. Stoping short of saying this is a must win, but if we don't cover by 15-20, this is concerning. Lindenwood is pretty soft! Over under $1,500 attendance tonight?

I'll go over on the dollars of ticket sales number. Wink   If you meant tickets sold then I'll take the over on that also but not by much.

Seeing develops understanding and I need to see our guys up close to get a better take on things. Hope that nothing changes so that I can make it in person.

I'm a little wary of how Valpo will perform tonight. I was at the Liberty game and I left that pretty frustrated.

The performance against CSU was better in the first half at least.

What I hope to see is improved 3 point shooting, establishing a post presence, and both Schwieger and Deaveiro to re establish themselves.

This game IS important.  After LU, the following 3 game are  gonna be even tougher. EIU has already shown a lot of chops against tough DI opponents.  NIU not as much, but by the time we get to them either one of us might be in a + or - trajectory. If we are 0 or - and they are +, we are in trouble. DePaul is now 5-0 right now and has not scheduled little sisters of the poor.

Tonight, I’m looking for two things:  player improvement across the board (especially perimeter shooting and perimeter defense) and coaching evolution in terms of zeroing in on more of a core rotation and a more consistent application of RPJ’s “system.”

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻LETS’S GO VALPO!

Not to be overly dramatic, but this feels like a must-win. I'll be pretty concerned about where things are headed if Valpo loses tonight.

I have always reserved a lot of optimism for VU basketball, especially after the Roger Powell hire. I really did think that we would at least return to being halfway relevant in our own conference. But man, if there isn’t a major turnaround for the last 75% of this game, I think I’m done following the program until they start winning a few games again.

They look significantly worse than last year through 2+ games, which is really unfathomable.

The worst part is how poorly coached they look. They can't do the little things right. The fouls they commit are high school level and almost look lazy. The offense has absolutely no cohesiveness. I have seen maybe 3 open looks from them all game and they can't even make those.

Cooper looks like he's regressed from last year and is genuinely playing like somebody who shouldn't get minutes. I really don't know where you go from here.

Good last 6 or so minutes. If they want me to feel any better, they have to play like that the rest of the game and win by 20+

Not a bad first half all things considered. The shooting looks better...albeit marginally better, but the showstopper here is the defense. Lindenwood has about double the turnovers and it mostly boils down to pressure causing mistakes. Keep up the defense and make some more shots and this will be a decent match.

I have to disagree on the lack of cohesiveness vok. I do think the synergy is better tonight. (That corner 3 from Shaw being 1 example). I hope they can make more shots is all. Particularly the high percentage misses being a pain in the side to watch.

If we have to reference being able to generate one open look all half as a sign that the team is improving, we are in trouble. I will admit the last 6 minutes of the half were probably the best they've played all season, though that is a very low bar.

Maybe because they were off 9 days, but they look like they are trying to figure each other out on offense/rusty. I don't think Powell has figured out which one of our guard combos between Wright, Justice, Darius, Monegro. Lazy passes on offense led to steals and hand down man down. Lions, way to many wide open looks from three. Not a good first 10 minutes, Lindenwood is not that talented outside of two or three guys  Sepp should be playing more. Dirty work, keeping the ball alive on the offense glass, rotating on defense nicely.

Really need more of this Sepp Schweiger combo. Sepp is an Iron wall in the paint.

Nice 13 point win from the guys. Was it pretty, heck no, but the team is playing more like a team. Defense is looking great, bordering on elite if they can clean up the interior a little more. Rebounding is also looking pleasant. they are closing pockets and protecting the paint more as well. Sepp is also stepping up to become a defensive wall and interior bucket merchant. Ultimately the major thorn left to work out is the shooting, which is improving game by game as well. On to Eastern Illinois for the MTE.

I do think the Schwieger and Sepp combo is one to be looked into for the future.

Coop with a double double. Nice to see that. Ellis is a keeper.  The ‘big’ tandem of Louth and Scroggins saw all of 2 minutes (with a Scroggins DNP - again). Schmitt and Shaw combined for 1 of 6 from 3.  All Wright looks all right - plays with confidence unlike a lot of freshmen.
